XFR vs E55 video
Also the suggestion that the XFR is modded is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.
both cars have 500hp and about the same tq. But the jag has 6 gears...
weight difference is small.
the sad thing is that jag is at least 5 years late...

I thought the weight difference was around 500 lbs...

Direct injection and SLR style intercoolers. OK it has a Roots and not a Lystholm S/C - we can argue which is best there but I think the video is pretty spot on.
Kudos to G atually showing it beating the M3 by bus lengths...
If only we had a decent and cost effective intercooler design.

Also, why the E55 came with a 2.65 diff ratio I still dont understand as a 2.82 would have made a difference in 100mph+ performance.

Think Jackpro has it also and did not seem to make much of a diff , not sure ....

The car has to be faster at any given speed with a shorter diff ratio, just as 1st gear is faster accelerating than second gear, although obviously the difference is much less obvious. The car is putting down more RWHP at a given speed than otherwise, as long as you are in the motors powerband of course.
The only point where this wont apply is when the motor spins past the power peak relative to a given speed.
Perhaps the difference is so marginal with a change from 2.65 / 2.82 that other factors like temps, fuel etc may play a bigger role...? Maybe a 3.06 would be more noticible at 100mph+, I know it will be noticable at pull away as you will just burn rubber all day...

Thats how I see it anyway?
If there is any engineer etc who can prove me wrong please let me know!!! I always like to challenge my logic. One other thing I was wondering ... is our auto box efficiency static as speed changes? For example is drivetrain loss 20% at 30mph and still 20% at 100mph? At what speed does the Tq convertor lock up?
Rgds Steve.
Gotta be the ultimate form a flattery.
"Look mom, I beat a model that was unveiled in 2002. I did it!!! I barely beat a 7 year old AMG design!!!!"
"That's nice dear. Now go brush your teeth a get ready for bed"
Not taking away from the Jaq. I was one of the first to post about it here when news broke. It's bout friggin time they came up with something with hp!!!!

Good point...but I seriously doubt the Jag is gonna hold together as well as the E55 seven years from now....
its not a bad car at all..
but rather have the CTS-V.
The jaguar can barely beat a stock e55 at the higher speeds.. over 120. There wont be the after market support in these cars... like the CTS-V or AMG.. therefore nothing to worry about. a modded jag will be very rare.

. That said, I've always favored Jaguar's interior over BMWs and Benzes.
