05' E55 AMG
that guy Gustav lies about whether cars are stock or not, and has it out for Mercedes...so i wouldnt doubt if that car was heavily modded to beat the E55

Isn't this guy notorious for only posting videos that show MBs losing, and always stacking the race in the favor of the non-MB car? I'm assuming by this guys track record that the 55 would smoke the Jag from a dig, but I might be wrong. Still, anything that can hang with an E55 gets a thumbs up in my book.
Also the suggestion that the XFR is modded is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.

i was impressed that the XFR could hang up with the 55...
both cars have 500hp and about the same tq. But the jag has 6 gears...
weight difference is small.
the sad thing is that jag is at least 5 years late...

I think Gustav is notorious for only posting wins of his cars. While he may have other vids, he chooses not show them. There have been more and more posts at his board showing other cars beat the beloved M.
I thought the weight difference was around 500 lbs...

I pulled this off C&D:
DIMENSIONS:
Wheelbase: 114.5 in Length: 195.3 in Width: 73.9 in Height: 57.5 in Curb weight: 4350 lb

If it was a 2010 XFR with 510 horses I can believe the video. If it was a 2009 XF supercharged with only 420 HP I call
. That said, I've always favored Jaguar's interior over BMWs and Benzes.

Ok here is another Gustav vid with I do believe the same XFR vs. an E90 M3 6 speed:

talk about racing this is a lil off topic here but here it goes. tonight i had my friends m5 (always have it) and my friend with his stock c63 pulled up and said let go someplace and do some runs. i said ok, not a problem beating a stock c63 at least that what i thought. we got to the place and did 10-100mph runs. 3 of them and all 3 time he was 1-1/2 in front of me i was so upset that i gave my friend his spear key that he gave me to keep back to him. and then went home and got my car and abused my friend. i cant belive that how slow that car is compared to my car and my friends. i loved the m5 b/c it feels very fast but after tonight im seeing things diff. im just hoping AMG does not lose power in the future compared to m.

Interesting the XFR actually has some beans... and some tech.
Direct injection and SLR style intercoolers. OK it has a Roots and not a Lystholm S/C - we can argue which is best there but I think the video is pretty spot on.
Kudos to G atually showing it beating the M3 by bus lengths...
If only we had a decent and cost effective intercooler design.![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Also, why the E55 came with a 2.65 diff ratio I still dont understand as a 2.82 would have made a difference in 100mph+ performance.

Think Jackpro has it also and did not seem to make much of a diff , not sure ....

I think in qtr you don't really get much of a difference as any gain in leverage at speed is lost by loss of grip at pull away... but...
The car has to be faster at any given speed with a shorter diff ratio, just as 1st gear is faster accelerating than second gear, although obviously the difference is much less obvious. The car is putting down more RWHP at a given speed than otherwise, as long as you are in the motors powerband of course.
The only point where this wont apply is when the motor spins past the power peak relative to a given speed.
Perhaps the difference is so marginal with a change from 2.65 / 2.82 that other factors like temps, fuel etc may play a bigger role...? Maybe a 3.06 would be more noticible at 100mph+, I know it will be noticable at pull away as you will just burn rubber all day...![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
Thats how I see it anyway?
If there is any engineer etc who can prove me wrong please let me know!!! I always like to challenge my logic.
One other thing I was wondering ... is our auto box efficiency static as speed changes? For example is drivetrain loss 20% at 30mph and still 20% at 100mph? At what speed does the Tq convertor lock up?
Rgds Steve.

I think what this shows more than anything else is that 4th gear is not good for the 55. I bet the X started driving away when the E shifted to 4th at about 125 mph. I would be interested in seeing the same race from the E to see if that's the way it worked.

Gotta be the ultimate form a flattery.
"Look mom, I beat a model that was unveiled in 2002. I did it!!! I barely beat a 7 year old AMG design!!!!"

Good point...but I seriously doubt the Jag is gonna hold together as well as the E55 seven years from now....

props to the jaguar..
its not a bad car at all..
but rather have the CTS-V.
The jaguar can barely beat a stock e55 at the higher speeds.. over 120. There wont be the after market support in these cars... like the CTS-V or AMG.. therefore nothing to worry about. a modded jag will be very rare.
