CLS55 AMG & RRS S/C
ive seen some dynos before on this part along with the cf intake tubes and they showed gains of over 20whp! apparently, the more mods u have, the more this part can help you.
either way its a nice looking part and i have one under the hood as well. all i need is the cf engine cover!

Nope, I still have my stock box. I can grab a picture, but it looks just like the one on VRP's site.

The foam filters are included, but Ive read that you're better off using stock filters or K&Ns.

80mm TB

Thought I'd hop in here. This airbox will not work with an 80mm TB. However, it is possible that it could be 'modified' to fit an 80 mm TB.
I think it would be possible to very carefully trim the inlet, if one had a template to know exactly where to cut. Essentially, the inlet hole needs to be about 1/2 inch wider in diameter and it also needs to sit back about 1/4" from where it presently sits flush against the stock TB. The 80mm TB actually extends further out from the SC housing, closer to the firewall than the stock TB does.

I have a VRP CF airbox that was made specifically for an 80mm TB on my car, which is still running a stock TB. I had to use a short 3 1/2" to 4" silicone reducer ring to bridge the gap.

The VRP box replaces the upper plastic pieces as well as the Y hose. You reuse the lower half of the assembly.

HP Gain

Renntech claims that adding the CF airbox to a car with a "Stage I" Pulley and ECU, but with a stock TB is worth 15 hp and 20 tq. Adding the CF airbox to a car with Pulley, ECU Headers and the larger 80mm TB is worth 20 hp and 20 tq. Again, these are Renntech's numbers. I'm sure these numbers represent hp and tq increase at the flywnheel at peak RPM, WOT. I doubt by adding my air box, I got the full 15 hp and 20 tq at 3500 rpms, partial throttle. But hey, every little bit helps!

There is NO WAY you can trim 1/2" from the carbon fiber around the air intake of the throttle body. It is simply too thin. Yes your way, aka adding material is an easy fix, but to open it up that much

See yeah

use a joint connector if you have a lrager TB.

this will be the best way to do it.

but it is better if it comes from VRP that suits the bigger TB, so to make a more flow of air into it.
