I just swaped out my stock 04 e-55 steering wheel with another members MP Design wood/leather 06 e-55 wheel, I love the new wheel, but the SA at the dealer said my shifts buttens won't work because his car is a 06 and its different from a 04. Is this true? or do I need to go to another dealer? Not that I ever use them , but I would like for everything to work.

Yes, the '04 is different from the '06 setup in terms of wiring and function of the switches. This aside, the wheels are exactly the same.

All you need to do is swap the shift buttons (switches) and wiring between the two wheels and you will be in business. The wiring and buttons will only take a few minutes to swap.
