about to buy a e55.
had a question regarding brake pads and the rotors. how many miles do they last before having to replace them?

Well, it depends on who was driving? 8k miles to 20k? Drive the car, pay close attention to the brake pressure/fade. Check for steering vibrations etc.

At 53k i was advised that ill need front discs in another few thousand miles, so at about 55/56k they will be replaced,pads have been changed already once according to my service reports.

Depends really on how the vehicle is being drived,as your driving style may be completly different to mine.

Just had mine replaced last week in service D 50k miles. Pads / rotors $850 including labor at an independent shop.
