Metal grinding noise from right rear brake
Today as I was pulling out of the driveway, I noticed this sound. It occurred with or without the brakes applied, and sounded the same regardless of pressure.
My SA said that the rear pads could be worn. I have 26k miles on the car. Is it possible the rear pads are toasted already, when the fronts had 80% the last time they inspected it?? He said the fronts almost never wear out. I thought it was the other way around.

check your rear pads, also check for marks on the rotor that can be caused due to grinding. sometimes a rock can get wedged between the pads and rotor.

Good call!! I had that exact thing happen to my BMW 530. A small stone got wedged. I took it to the dealer and they found it right away. Made me feel foolish for not finding it.

I put my stock wheels back on since Im selling my HRE's. When I got to the wheel making the noise, I checked the pads (looked like a lot left) and wiggled and banged on the rotor to knock any debris. Took a ride, and the noise is gone. Seems like it might have been a small pebble. Thanks for the suggestion!!
