Contemplating on whether or not to get x-pipe installed, or just stay with my secondary cat and resonator delete.
Hoping some of you might have videos you can post on this thread with drive-bys, in-car, outside-car of E55 with x-pipe, and with what I have...

None of that stuff will show the different of the X pipe. I would only do it if you do not like how it sounds now. By that, I mean if you do not like the side to side "hitting" sound that I actually like. The X pipe makes it more of a smooth and steady sound. The only real way to get the E55k to sound different is to cut the cats and or mufflers. the rest is minimal.

You must be having a better experience than I did.
The shop that did mine was supposed to install an x-pipe when they originally did the work, but tried to shortcut and just run straight pipes. I personally thought it sounded like ***** and ran very rough. After making them install an x-pipe, it sounded exactly like I had hoped it would.

There will hardly be any performance gains just from the x-pipe installation. Most of the sound changes come from removing the resonator, which you already did. The x-pipe should give you a slight European/exotic tone while the h-pipe gives more of a deeper muscle-car sound. It's hard to hear the differences clearly in the videos. It'd be best to try it out.... the process is easily reversible, so if you don't like it, you can always roll back to the old setup.

ya i heard my friends cls55 with x-pipe and it sounded very exotic, versus the muscle sound that mine makes....would it be more quiet on my car because the cls55 is louder to begin with?
