Hi guys-

So I posted last week that my wife's E55 needed Toyo's T1R's. I actually got the local tire place, Tire Kingdom, to match the price of shipping from an on-line dealer so it was a no brainer as they only needed 1 day to get the tires.

We drop the car off yesterday at 1PM and tell them I will be back in 2 hours and call my cell if you need me. Well I call to see if the car is ready at 3PM and she says "yeah, its ready. I called you an hour ago (office # so I didn't get the call) to see if you wanted us to align the car as it was out of spec. You did not call back so we did it for you as the car was on the rack". I say, "well you should not have done that b/c I don't want Tire Kingdom aligning my E55". She says, "sorry, we will not charge you, b/c you did not authorize". OK.

So we pick up the car and when my wife handed me the paperwork, the alignment was done for a ML 55, 63 not an E. So, the un-authorized alignment was done for the wrong car. I will tell you it drives nice and straight and the wheel is straight, but the angles could be off.

So, do I need to get it re-done as it was done to the wrong specs? Thoughts/comments, etc.

why would they do it to ML spec?? take it to another place and ask to check your allignment first ...

 

If you have the alignment report for the set angles for what they did you can compare it to the correct spec report. The tire shop might have that.

 

Yes, I have the alignment report. I will search for the E55 alignment specs but it someone has them please post.

Honestly, most places just adjust toe in/out unless you have a blatant issue. I would not be overly concerned.
