Nah, I dont think we will offer 2 E55 versions, it will stay the same as it is now.... This look will be exclusive to the E63. I am IN LOVE with how aggressive it turned out, looks like a CLK BS only better to me!

If you would have told me "huge aggressive fins" I would have tried to talk you out of it - seeing it in the pics . . . I'm really surprised how much I like it but I REALLY, REALLY like it - strikes the right balance between being aggressive and not over the top. I can honestly say it's the only time I've been jealous of an E63 Once again nice job.

I know the purpose is primarily cosmetic, but does it do any "diffusing"? Just wondering. Is there any benefit from the front lip? I love the lip, but I think my driveway would destroy it.

My guess is yeah there probably is some functionality to it from driving it, but not huge. Most likely at highway and faster speeds might it actually be doing something.
I think the front lip gives me a little more downforce while at highway speeds as well. Not a lot again but some.
Mostly they are for looks, but glad they do add some function too.
As far as the driveway, yeah thats what the raise button is for going in and out of high or low spots.

well thats a 180 from your posts in the other thread!

You seemed to like it in the Euroteck thread and now your thinking of selling?

If your so on the fence, love it one minute not sure the next maybe you should wait til yours is in your possession Look at it against your car, then decide if you wanna sell it.

You might be dissapointed you sold it afterwards...
Anyway if you want to discuss selling your item please start another post and dont hijack this one

The fins were enlarged on purpose.... in fact others have mentioned that they're not large enough If you look at CLK63 Black Series or SL63 or SL65 Black Series, you'll see that Mercedes/AMG deliberately enlarged the fins to give the car a much stronger and aggressive stance..... it allows the car to look more unique / exotic.

I love the large fins, and the diffuser looks fantastic

I have to say - the fins are to large IMO. I prefer the E55 diffuser and thankfully, that is what I drive. On a sedan, the large fins seem out of place. CLK black is different story and it goes with the wide body and coupe look. Again, just my thought. But on a classy sedan, large fins are not the way to go. Just my opinion. Some people love it, others will not.

Well not everyones gonna love it as I do...
IMO its perfect. And since it is on my ride and its a 63 I think its just right...
If I had a 55, I probably wouldnt have gotten the diffuser. I like aggressive and the 55 one isnt enough....again just my opinion.

I agree with you that not everyone is going to like it.... and indeed that is the case with every single part out there Regarding the large fins, even if you look at the regular SL63 (non-black series model), Mercedes/AMG have started using more aggressive fins as well (car has no wide body kit, but still 2-door). And although the E-Class is a very classy sedan, you have to remember, the AMG version has very sporty and aggressive elements to it that are not there on the regular E350/E550. The non AMG versions are definitely meant for total elegance and luxury. In my opinion, AMG cars in general are meant to look a bit more menace than their counter-parts . That's why people go further by adding CF lip spoiler, rear diffusers, vented hood, etc....

Aside from looks, I think the larger fins diffuser provides more of a functionality than smaller fins diffuser in keeping exiting air from underneath the vehicle on track. Yes, it maybe a small difference, but it is a difference nontheless which is better than nothing.

By the way, AMG performance studio in Germany offers a custom made carbon fiber diffuser that I was told similar (not identical) to the one on the SLR but designed for the E55/63 sedans as well as CL55/63 coupes. The price is definitely out of this world

I've been trying to find it again online but wasn't able to. It was done for a car in Dubai. The price was reportedly close to $9.5k and was installed on a Brabus Rocket style car with the V12 engine. But to those guys over there, $10k is like $100 bucks (if not less) over here, so they don't feel it as much..... and of course, AMG is there to take advantage of that

I'm sure Neil's looks just as good Even if the AMG diffuser looked a little better, it definitely is not work 10x more.

I am sure it costs thousands! Did not know they even made one.

It is growing on me the more I look at it but I feel the exact way I felt about my euroteck carbon deklid spoiler... 50% of the time I liked it, the other 50% I was not so sure. Its part of being a car but I guess and making sure everything is perfect to your own liking.
