Actually I think we can get away with it. They already do grudge racing at Sac but you can't be faster than 11.5, but they turn the tree off and have a guy drop his hands. I know the starter at Sac and I can run this by him if you guys want. I can ask for him to let the tree run as normal just don't go off the tree. Have one of use drop the hands, I think we just need to be efficient in doing so to sell the idea to him, so as not to hold up people behind us. But still how long will it take if we just let the lights go and wait a second or two? Ricers take 15-16 seconds to do runs anyways, so we have 3 to 4 seconds to play with right? If you guys want I can ask the track manager and the starter for permission for just us to do this. I'm assuming not all of us running will be doing it anyways just the fast guys like Alan Rick and URNext and who ever else has a beast that comes. Definitely no one with a slow car like myself would need to attempt to get the flag!
Hey Rick any luck on some of those stickers? That would be awesome to have them ready by then so we all can put them on. I wouldn't mind either one across the top or running along the side of the window like the ACG one, or even a small one for the side window that says Team AMG.

I think they do a bracket race for cash. You just need to talk to the guys in the tower, tell em you have 10 cars with 200 bucks and you wanna do a bracket race. You bring chalk for the window dial in a time and they program the tree takes seconds, it is done all the time. This allows the cars to be on a level playing feild and it is a real thrill.
As far as the flag goes lets just hope to hell a 63 can take it back. It simply feels wrong that the flag has been captured by the older model

No we can't do that Juice. I was about to call the track manager which is why I fished for ideas with the last posting to see if anyone had a great idea like you just did and I was told it's a gay idea.
So no! Way to be creative now go sit in the corner!

Heck I have been there when they do exactly that the announcer says "jackpot"
a bunch of cars get in one lane, they pay the starter 20 bucks, and pick a dial time.
they run a few rounds during the night and winner gets the cash.
Tell the starter they can keep 30% of the pot for running the race
Ok winner gets a night with Kim Kardashian?

Haha, I'm having a hard enough time getting people to attend let alone race for cash. I'm down either way.Originally Posted by juicee63

That AMC guy posted that Vadim is coming up, can this be true?

That's the only issue in all seriousness is who will come out and put up the money? I know the guy at the starting line on Fridays and can talk to the Track manager I'm sure they will let us. Just a matter of will enough do it? I know you will, Rick, Lisa if she comes, Alan and I will do it. Then again i say if you don't, you don't get to run for the flag or get a Team AMG sticker haha!
Anytime the Vellano Texas Mile Show Car attends an event alot of cars vanish. Nobody wan'ts to lose both in speed and looks. To top it off he brings his kid out to pour lemon juice on the open wound.
Sadly you can't say "all show and no go" or "all go and no show"
Rick may have lost the flag , but he has every run on film , run and re-run, certainly he will be beyond prepared. Notice how none of the races were ever posted from his video team? They were sent to a processing lab, calculations run, and his car will be tweaked based on the data collected from the video's.
The welds on the LT's are likely being smoothed as I type this, the tunes meddled as I ponder what if?
Sal was the first car I saw hit 126mph in person. You could hear the guys car from Fontana to Sacramento to Famoso. There is a new speed trap king at 128mph and trust me when I say, they are coming to say " hey I beat Alan and he had the fastest 55 in the west"
keep an eye on your friends cause in the end they wan't those bragging rights.

...LOL! The trash talking begins, god I love competition. This is why I wanted the flag, I knew this would force you guys to come. Haha, a few weeks later here you are. In the end I just wanted you guys to come on up, I'm glad it worked.

I totally agree it was a well worth trip to Fontana to get you guys up here. It's fun regardless of the fact that I am not the fastest guy out there. Hopefully we can keep the events going especially since my warranty just kicked in and I have unlimited mileage on it!
I wan't my flipping flag back,
best RT+ 60 ft time wins the flag
Here is an idea
RT plus 60 ft time=
Lowest # wins flag
so a .000(perfect light) and a 1.77 60 ft time =1.77
a .500(half second after green) and a 1.65= 2.15
Lowest combination equal best driver.
Maybe a trophy for overall fastest car.
At least with this I can BEAT RICK.

I'm totally down with improving my 60' times and RT. Isn't there a way to dial in a time and just use time slips to calculate the overall winner? Let me try to explain what I'm thinking, basically I'm thinking out loud. We dial in a time of 12.00 and 13.00. We make the run and right off the back we'll subtract the difference 1 second assuming neither one of the 2 cars went under. After that we take the R/T and find the difference which then will be deducted from the ET with one with the better RT. Let me try to lay it out.Originally Posted by juicee63

Dial in times : 12.00 13.00
Reaction : .300 .200
ET : 12.2 13.05 = 12.05 (the difference of the dial in time)
Now the difference between the RT is .1, in favor of the 13.00 second dial in time. We take the .100 difference and add it on to the slower RT car which gives him a 12.300 ET. The winner would be the 13.00 second car with a time of 12.05 vs 12.300. hahaha...makes sense or I'm I way off here. Maybe it only makes sense to me...
. Just trying to mix it up.Juicee, what do you think? It's really not that much work. After we get our dial in times we'll start lining cars up.

I'll check with Vadim but he told me he wanted to track/drag data log to perfect the ECU/TCU tuning. Car is scheduled to be done July 31st so Aug 7th is definitely a go. It's Friday so I don't need worry about reporting to work. I can just hang out all day and night and finally meet all of you diehard AMG enthusiasts in person. Plus the fact that I can log a few more miles on the car for adaptation.Originally Posted by bassn_07

I'm too lazy to go back and reread all the threads but Alan did we mention the best part about racing at Sac is? If no one knows they are pretty understanding about running all out without kicking you off their track. If you go below 11.5 they are not going to ask that you leave since NHRA says you need a roll cage and 5 point harness. So hopefully everyone jumps on this event and sees what their car can really do with no worries of getting booted off the track!
I'm still waiting to see some C classes sign up, where are you guys at?

Exactly how it is done.
Lets say its a race between you and me
I dial 12.3
you 11.3
I run 12.35
you 11.33
RT me .017
RT you .035
Ok here is the math part
me 12.35 + .017=12.367
you 11.33 + .035=11.365
im within .067 of my dial
you .065 you win by 2/1000ths hahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahha

This will be a contest of how well you drive and how well you know your car and this track. Skill game 4 sure. Much more so than a test of the cars.
If this is the test, I could actually have a chance at flag retention!!!
Heads up on a non staggered light Im D O N E.
Unless of course the ole spell is cast
