iPhone 3G Integration 2005 W211
Hello all,
I have searched and searched but I still cannot find the right answer for this. I have a "strange" 2005 E55. Strange, because it's a very early 2005 and it has some '04 features, but also a lot of '05 features. I have a connector in my center console, which I am told means I have either UHI or MHI. I've attached the picture of the connector.
I want to get my iPhone 3G to work with my car through a bluetooth pairing or by whatever means people are using to get the phonebook / handsfree / steering wheel controls / etc. I do NOT need iPod integration, I can use my AUX port wire for that. I'm looking for PHONE integration. I would like an OEM solution. I've spoken with t-bone about this but unfortunately the part # he gave me for what he did is very hard to get a hold of and I'm not sure if this is the only route.
If anyone can offer any assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
-m

No pic attached Marcus. I'm not sure exactly what you need but it sounds like you might to buy the bluetooth adapter. Take a look at this, http://www.wireless4mb.com/

There is a Iphone adpator available. The SAP bluetooth device (looks like SLR nose) does not work with the Iphone.

Marcus, I have a 2006 and I get all the features you speak of with using the BT puck provided through MB. I had installed by Steve and I love it.
As for the adapter cradle that mounts in your center console, I would highly recommend not purchasing this. Fitment is very tight and I had a hard time getting my phone in and out. JMO and thoughts.

I would like a cradle or bluetooth puck. I do not want to go through Steve @ MBenzNL - I'd like to go through my dealership. Steve does not come to Chicago very often and I don't want to leave myself open to issues if by chance they arise.
Does anyone have actual MB part #s for the cradle? I am hearing now that the MB bluetooth puck will not give me all the iPhone functionality?

Alan,
Thanks for the pics. I like the idea of a bluetooth puck better so I can keep my phone in my pocket rather than putting it into a cradle, but as you can see some say this BT puck works, this one does not, etc. Do you know the part # of the puck you have? Can you also confirm that you had the same phone connector in your car previous to having the puck installed?

No problem. If I remember, Steve installed the connector on the vertical wall towards the back of the center console. Here are some pictures of the puck I'm using. FYI...I don't have any problems with any functions on my Iphone when using BT. Everything I need is there. Is there any specific feature that you're looking for with the BT puck/IPhone?

Thanks for the help everyone. I ordered the part # bassn provided - acb your part # was not valid for the US market. I am told it is plug and play and thanks to the advice of the members here should give me the functionality I am looking for. It actually also works with my GL so when every I need to swap I can always do so. Nice added bonus.
FWIW, the module cost me around $380.

I actually get to correct Marcus!!!! ACB, the puck you have is valid for the US, however it is only available as a VPC installed option on MY 09 and newer cars that do not have bluetooth standard(S and CLs). As long as the B67875878 puck is used, iphone functions should work properly.

I replied to your thread in the non-AMG W211 forum about this. Yep, that's the part you need as I just installed it in my SL600 and it pairs perfectly with the iPhone 3G. Bad news for you is, I paid $225.00 on ebay.

Nick,
I looked up the part # and it didn't come up, maybe I typed it wrong. My mistake. Too bad my 65 doesn't have MHI (no connector in center console)... maybe that could be "fixed" ?
Benz - part should be here tomorrow. Should have shopped around more, MSRP is $493, $225 is quite a discount! I'll keep everyone posted to what happens...

Ok guys. Got the unit in, hooked it up, everything sync'd up and works great - except no one can hear me! I can hear them, make calls, look through my phone book, everything - but no one can hear me. What am I doing wrong?
I am pairing an iPhone 3G w/ 3.0 software.

Just as a follow up - the mic was disconnected from the MHI unit in the trunk, as MB211 suggested in the W211 forum. My tech found it and plugged it back in, everything works brilliantly. In case others are wondering, I used part #B6 787 5878 as bassn_07 suggested. Plug and play.

HELP! I'm confused! I have a 2005 e55 as well and can't seem to get good info on how to do this as well. I don't have a connection in the middle console?!?!
So all I need is part #B6 787 5878 for plug in and play? Took a photo of my middle console and command center. Please help. I also have a 3g iphone on 3.0 software.
