Chrysler warranty update
I've read both of the long threads on the merits of the Chrysler Max Care and Fidelity Platinum aftermarket warranties. I understand the pros and cons of both, and saw the numerous opinions on the subject. My question is, a lot of this discussion was held prior to Chrysler's reorganization and most of you wondered if the Chrysler warranties would be honored if Chrysler went under.
Now that Chrysler has "reorganized", has anyone experienced any changes to their policies? Has anyone recently purchased a warranty from Chrysler and has the coverage/cost/application process changed substantially from Jan-Mar of this year?
I was going to go with Fidelity, but the majority of the comments on here make me think that Chrysler is the best option. Just want to make sure that's still the case, as I'm about to buy a '06 E55 with under 40k miles.
FYI: I was quoted the following prices for Fidelity Platinum coverage with a $100 deductible.
3/36K $2620
4/48K - $3115
5/60K - $3985
Thanks guys. This forum is a great source of information.

Recently extended my Chrysler contract and I am glad I did. Paid $2740 for 5/70. It has so far covered a strut replacment and a rail assembly/motor replacemet for my panorama roof. The latter was just last week and would have cost me $3500. The maxcare covers a lot is well worth it.

Also, how many miles did you have on the car and who did you buy it through?
Thanks!

Timeless - Yes. The previous contract was cancelled after which the new one was activated. I received a refund for what was left over on the old one.
My previous was a 3/20 Chrysler service contract that took me to 70K miles. I extended the contract with the new one at 69K with the 5/70 that will end in 2014 or at roughly 140K miles. I dealt with Mike Case at Ziegler Automtovie and he can be reached at 630 231-3464. He offered a much better deal and coverage terms than others.

i spoke w/ mike case this am...and i'm thinking about cancelling my CPO 2 yr extension for $2500 and buying the 5yrs/70k to my current 2006 R500 w/ 55k miles. i'd still have overlapping coverage for another 1 yr/45k miles...then get an extra 18 months/25k miles over my CPO. the negative is i'd have to add another $1k to my CPO, AND there's $100 deductible vs. zero.
HAVE any of you had issues w/ parts prices and/or labor rate?
MY MB DEALER telling me many warranty co's are now capping labor costs and also saying the would send them parts to use - and MB dealers are not turning business away.
Any thoughts?

I saw that on Fidelity as well. I would talk to your local dealer... My deal said Fidelity was fine never had any problems with them. .only had one claim...They took care of me, rental car and all.. So far so good for me....

so chrysler doesnt do the warranties directly anymore. You have to go through a chrysler, jeep or dodge dealership to get the contract. Also, no more payment plan (atleast through the dealership I called)..

They offer the warranty and 12 months 0% financing if you need it. There is a fee for doing the financing option.
You need an inspection from an MB dealer using their inspection form. After you get approval you're covered.

I don't know where that number you posted goes to but the web address I posted is an independent dealer and has the lowest prices for the chrysler service contract. I discovered http://www.chryslerfactoryplans.com/ through this site. I think almost everyone that has one on this site went through Michael Case at Harold Zeigler Automotive Group. I am only a customer and appreciate the level of service they provided me. Based on my research they were considerably less expensive than other dealers that provide the same contract.

RE: Chrysler Warranty
I recently purchased a Chrysler Max Care warranty for my SL600 through Ziegler group. Chrysler does require a pretty thorough MB dealer inspection if your car is out of factory warranty, they provide a form that needs to be completed, along with service department receipt, and gets submitted with your application paperwork. Once your car passes inspection and you submit payment, the warranty comes through in about a week. I have already used it, I had to pay my deductable and they covered the rest at my MB dealer.
I chose Chrysler over the others, Fidelity and Easy Care because they cover more, cost about the same, and both my MB dealer and independent Mercedes Specialist will work with them. For what it's worth, my independent told me he will no longer work with Fidelity due to questionable claims practices (tried once to force him to install used parts and also tried to deny another legit customer claim), but both were good with Easycare.
Provided Chrysler survives, their warranty is a good solution for us.

I also called Mike at Zeigler Group and talked to him for quite a while. He's local to me, Chicago area, and I got a good feeling about him.
I've looked at Chrysler, Fidelity, MB, Warranty Direct and Easy Care. Chrysler is best for me for a couple reasons. They are factory backed, honored by MB, provide a rental, need no inspection if under current factory warranty, have the best price and do not have a wear and tear clause like the third parties. I will be going with this warranty as soon as I secure financing, get an insurance quote and find a car.
PM me if you have questions that I might be able to answer.

Nothing but good things to say about Chrysler and Michael Case for me.
bought the 3 year unlimited mile warranty with 68K miles on my 02 OOW CL55 in November for ~2800 and have had >$4000 in repairs at the local MBZ dealer to date and still have more than 2.5 years left.
They paid like a "Slot Machine" according to the dealer and I was given a new C300 to drive for the 5 or so days the dealer had my car. The Inspection did cost me $200 at the local dealer and I had to do around $1000 in repairs (motor mounts and some other little things) to pass but once covered it's been smooth sailing.
Next car I'll make the inspection and needed repairs part of the deal with the seller as we both thought that everything was fine when I bought it.
Highly recommended.
