What type of noises are common on this car? I want to buy this car I am looking at but want some advice from owners first. Any response would be appriciated.
Thanks in advance,

Noise!!
On a cold start the supercharger makes a loud whining noise and the injectors or lifters tick a lot. As you go from 1000rpm to 2000rpm all you here is supercharger whining and spinning. If they are suposed to be this loud then ok but it dose seem quite a bit louder than expected from a Mercedes. There is also a very very slight knock coming from the crank case I think. It's almost like it my have been over reved or something but the rev limiter should take care of that.
Like I said before, I want to buy the car, I just want to be sure it's right.

Upon startup I can hear mine whine for a while. It may be the blower but it sounds more like the power steering pump to me. There is also a ticking valvetrain noise, which you will notice most when idling and parked next to a building or fence. Sometimes when I start it I can hear one of the idler pulleys making a bit of noise, but that's not normal(unless it happens all the time to everyone, which I doubt), so I'll be replacing it soon. The SC clutch chirps when it engages, unless it's been replaced. Regardless, the chirp is considered normal apparantly.
If you buy this car, and you are like me, you will find a multitude of things that really have no place in a $90k car. As I have said before, if I had bought this thing new I would have taken it back to the dealer the next day and returned it, or at least tried to. It makes all kinds of noises, you can feel the SBC unit charge through the brake pedal(vibration), and it rides like a truck, even in comfort mode. The navigation is ok, but takes waaayyyyy too long to set up.
With that said, they are going for great prices these days, and every time I do a rolling burnout or clean up at the drags it puts a huge smile on my face!
