What will your AMG do in the mile?
From dead stop to the end of the mile?
Do you think our IAT`s can take a 30 second boost run from 0 to ????

178mph on 91 octane with TANNER FOUST(speed channel) driving
Now, "REAL" Long tube Headers, Custom 100 octane file and 125 shot of nitrous and also if all go right a nice new set of cams
I will tell you one thing for sure, think about stopping fast, real fast
that is the key at the

Recently here in the UK guys got to 162-5mph in the 1 mile on an air strip following low 12's in the qtr... compared to other cars they did seem to suffer from heat soak. Rear mounted reservoir would have helped ALOT as well as additional heat exchangers.
Their only mods were pulleys and ECU, no cooling AFAIK.
And don't get me started on the gearing....

Out Of Control!!
I dunno but I wanna find out. My car used to pull real hard up top (now that the injectors are maxed out I have to wait for retune). Above 120mph it really starts to shine, my car thinks its an M lol

Oh, and one more thing, I did the runs with my Vellano 20" wheels
now that was funny. Hey I had to look good for the cameras
. Having drag radial make NO difference at all I tried it out back to back. I also spoke to a guy and his wife that have been to every Texas Mile event and the guy told me the same thing, He said " Go out there and just step on it, forget about all the burnouts you see others doing it doesn't help at all" He had a camaro that needed a parachute to stop....

I want so bad to run my car in a mile race flat out. I would only do it on 109oct though. Not tuning for it, but just the protection 109 offers when engine temps build. Last thing I need is to detonate at 150mph!

I think a STAR lowering adjustment would help and of course the race gas.
One mile run is a must do for me and getting some 60-130 track times they offer on one of the local tracks.. A lot of the Porsche TT`s have 1/4, mile, 60-130, one mile and dyno numbers listed in their signatures. Well rounded cars.

+1. My car really seems to like the back half better than the front 1/8 mile. My car's a slouch in the first half
.
Hey Rick, do you by chance have that show saved? I never had a chance to view it.
This is one thing I'm really curious about, what my car could do in the 60-130 range. I often visit 6speedonline and that seems to be the measurement they use for power. The only thing I do know is that my car's capable of doing 130 in a 1/4 mile....
. I would think somewhere in the 8's for me but the only way to tell is to use a v-box. I'm just not willing to purchase one for 500 and never use it again.

I know you showed them team AMG.
I had two calls from locals telling me about your car and asking if I knew the car? Just did not know who the car belonged to.. I planned to run the mile but motor was not ready last march.

This may be a bit extreme, but what about removing headlights for the run and using some tubing to re-route the intake to the openings? Might help a bit with temps, and even more as a "pre-boost"

In 70 deg. air, I get up to 140 deg. IAT on a 0-130 run. Just not sure what happens after that..
Need to road test but to many damn texters out there these days. Makes it un-safe for us high speed performance testers..

Are you talking about the October Texas Mile? I will try to get over to see it again. Have you heard of any other AMGs that are signed up? I am still bone stock, so I doubt I will run mine just to see what I may already have seen on deserted Texas Highways...hint..... in one mile the 155 limiter comes into play.....

Well out there in no mans land, yes at times there was a tail but if you don't line up right when it's blowing then POOF it's gone. by the time I got to line up nothin wind gone.. For the most part the only cars that hit the 200 mark were not really street cars. As the only 4 door pig out there I can tell you we SHOWED them "TEAM AMG" .. remember it's only a mile and once you hit about 165 everything changes. Your car gets real light up front, so be careful, your speed increase gets very slow. After my first run I lowered the front of the car an inch and the car was stuck to the ground. A three day event
Best time I ever had racing.. once in a life time chance...

In my car I think limiter will kick in before I get there based on my 1/4 speed. Like Alan my car likes the back half where I pick up 27mph
