Props to MBUSA
While we have been in the recent love fest with our remaining front line tuners and vendors, I thought I'd give some props to the Remarketing department at MBUSA. My lease ran out a few months back and I was negotiating a buyout. I got the standard red-tape that any large company will have and then the contact information for a few execs. After a forwarded email, I was in direct touch with Chris Browne who is in charge of all MB Finance / Daimler Finance Car and Truck remarketing. He was honest, professional, consistent, and very prompt. I have only had the pleasure of a few interactions with MB execs, but I can honestly say that this one was smooth. There was very little concern for getting money from me and more for having a procedure and following the logic and rationale.
To those looking to lease / purchase a used or new MB, I would insist on going through MB Finance.

Chris Browne? (the singer? lol j/k)
How competitive is MB's current finance rates? Was checking them out a fews ago and they were about 2-3% higher than other banks.
Good info to know though.

They may appear more, but when you bundle buying an MB and the finance and the loyalty aspect, you get a slamming deal. At the time I leased my '06, I was down to almost no interest at all. It shaved almost $500 off the monthly payment. That is huge on a car that had almost $20k extra in options over my '05
Also, he has been so cool that I hope to speak with him more and see if he will help streamline AMGs to enthusiasts...

I purchased my CLS55 on the MB-financial lane at Manheim. Got it for about 10K under the current retail value in this region.

I was just checking auction prices for 2006 CLS55 and was amazed at how low they've gotten..... there are 4 CLS55 going through Manheim Riverside auction tomorrow: all 4 cars are 2006 models with very low mileage. The prices are ranging from $40k to $43k (from 6k miles to 21k miles)

Sometimes that works great as well.... let them take the car back, then pick it up at the auction for much MUCH cheaper ![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)

I have noticed that the prices on the CLS55's are actually going up at Manheim a little but the inventory is very scares, Even when i look nationally. There is a Black p030 car on ove.com with a buy it now of $47,000 or $49,000 i think

The prices are leveling out a bit, so MB is less and less likely to negotiate. Most residuals from 2006 are about $20k elevated from auction prices, so there are great deals to be had if you have access. MB gave me a great buy deal as well, but I don't know if I want to keep the car past warranty and newer models..

I would love to know when it comes time for my next car. I've Googled "Manheim market report" and found plenty of people wanting this info as well. Obviously some of you are dealers with accounts.

I went to the Riverside Auction before I bought my E, and granted the prices were GREAT, I didn't have the ***** to jump into an M-B without buying a CPO from a Dealer (yeah I know, maybe I'm just a pu$$). A good "trick" though (not sure if it's something you guys don't know), is if you call MBUSA, you can give them the Vin, and you can get some important Reliability info on the Car.... At least the guy who we had on the line was able to help in that.
Also, and correct me if I'm wrong here, but these Auction cars are usually cars that were rejected by Dealers for whatever reasons correct? From my understand based on what I've been told, they're usually "second tier" cars.

In this market - better cars are heading through auction because the dealers don't want to pay the higher prices that MBUSA likely wants for them and they don't want to tie up working capital on high end used cars.

2008 c300 manheim auction pricing
Sorry this is off topic but I am in desperate need of manheim prices for the new 2008' C-Class 4matic with 10,000-25,000 miles. Because after paying off a dealer and auction fees I need to know if its worth the risk or just better off to skip the risk and haggle with a dealer. I believe I can get the same car from a dealer for $27 K so I will compare it to that price.
