Sparkplugs!

Sparkplugs!
How often should they be changed? The plugs that are in the car now are the same ones that were in the car when the car was new. So we are talking about 5yr old plugs and wires for that matter, but they only have just over 18k miles on them. Should I change them or are they fine? I'm trying to get every little bit of umph out of the car for the next time out to the track.

I do mine at 30k or every two (2) years…
I think the factory recommends every 100k but that’s to long for the plug & head to be friends. I want them to come out, easily!
For my other boosted car, I change them every 10k, but that car does not have 16 plugs!

Plugs a subjective, If I was trying to break a recored I would change them, As far as wires I would check the ohm resitance with a mutimeter, Just look for any that are considerably higher than the rest. If your close (2 tenth or so) to a certin goal PM me,I might be able to give you some tips to get you there wile maintaing your stock status.
