What would you pay?

I am looking at a used 05 E55 with around 35k miles in Los Angeles. Private party sale.

The car is in immaculate condition inside and out.
Tires at around 50%
Front brakes with rotors done around 2k miles ago.
Full service records at the dealership.
No accidents.
Extended Warranty through MB until 2011 or 100,000 which ever comes first

It has all the options but for Parktronic and the Pano roof.

They are asking around 38k

What do you think would be a good deal?

Thanks

Nate

04 w211 E55
2 years ago I purchased My 04 E55 with 19k miles in mint condition with all options possible for $52k. The car was 3 yrs old when I bought it and for you now it would be 4 years with extended warranty. I would try to knock $2-3k off but I still think it's a great buy. My E55 was worth EVERY PENNY I spent and I know you will love the car.......go get it .

If you can get it between 30-33k it would be a GREAT deal. $33k-35 will be a GOOD deal.
The pluses to the car appear to be the low mileage and the fact that it already has a warranty.

Depends on the season
I paid 40k for my 06 with 37k. It only has Nav. Tires are 90%, rotors and pads brand new. No accidents, 1 owner, showroom condition. Even still smells like new.

Thanks everyone for their thoughts.

Do you think the market is stablizing for these cars. It seems like they took a hugh hit over the last year due to the economy.

from what i have seen it seems to have flat lined. For cars similar to mine I'm seeing pricing still at the same level from march.

That is for 06's

Everyone says all options but does it have distronic? Distronic, parktronic and pano are expensive options, but it does sounds like a nice car if you don't care about not having them. having the warranty is a big plus. I agree that $35K is a good deal. make sure it really has all the options dynamic seats, heated and cooled seats, sunshades, trunk closer, tpms, nav, keyless go ect. As long as its not a stripper and its the color you want don't lose a good car over a few bucks. better to pay a little more for a warranty car that has been cared for than to steal something for $30k and have problems with it.

I always go by the rule that the seller needs to sell their product whatever it is more than the buyer needs to buy it. I think $38K is way tooooo much for a five year old car. The seller is in love with it, doesn't understand the current market, and is more emotionally attached to it than you are, at least right now. What is the production month and year? You should offer them $32K. Personally, I would look for a well optioned 06 in that price range that is still under OEM warranty. There are a lot of 05/06 E55's for sale right now and you should be able to get your price, especially if you are a cash buyer. Walk away if they won't work with you. JMHO
