5000miles = 30ml of Oil in Catch Can
This morning i was at motorwerks of houston. Sunil gave me a VRP oil catch can for free. I came back home and replaced my Cusco one with the VRP one. The Cusco Oil catch can had about 30ml of oil in it after 5000 miles. So the catch can does help/work. It is a good cheap mod which helps.
If anyone wants my Cusco oil catch can I am selling it for 50. here are the pics.

Shardul,
does the vrp OCC have two inlets and outlets? i have my eyes on a saikou michi unit, but i would consider the vrp unit if it has two in and outs, and was smaller than the michi can. thanks in advance.

there isnt a catch can that will filter 100% of blowby gases. the better cans have some means of filtering the gases, be it baffles or mesh. most cans are empty on the inside, and while it may catch some of the blowby, it also allows the most back into your engine.

The big deal why you want this is that oil in the combustion decreases the octane of fuel. There are nice cans like the one being sold or you can make your own for inexpensive. I plan on building one this weekend if I get some time!

So the point of the can is to stop the return back into the intake? Where does that oil come from and why not just have it go out? Will it hurt the exhaust or emissions?
What are the "gains" from not having the oil in the combustion chamber? In the past, I simply put a baby K&N filter on that outlet and just swapped it out from time to time. I never had pil drip from it.

Yes you can vent the oil vapors into the atmosphere, but then you will not be ecofriendly.
The crankcase has positive pressure to push the vapors out at the same time suction is created from the intake to suck them in at the opening at the throttle body.
With your K&N filter you only have positive pressure pushing the vapors out.
