AMG BRAKES

I am in dire need to get my front brakes done on my 06' E55. The problem I am running into to is that I recently got laid off from work and things are very tight with money. What are my options as far as lowest cost brake job right now? I know usually you need to order the pads, rotors and brakes sensors. It would be an extreme help if the rotors can be cut instead of having to by new ones. I know on these cars its never recommended but can it be done. At this point in my life it doesn't have to be perfect. I really just need the car to stop. I am obviously willing to go aftermarket if i have too as well. The one thing that is good at least is that i have someone who can do the labor for me for free. Anyone with any help, tips or suggestions on the best way to do this would be helping me out alot. I owe you one

a quarter mile at a time
measure the front rotors and check for minimum thickness. If they're not there yet, Just change the pads.

+1

Most of the time, it takes two sets of pads to wear out the rotor.
Have your pads been changed before? and how many miles?
Be careful with the SBC and changing the pads, remember the SBC can apply the brakes at any time and if your finger is in there OUCH or at best brake fluid everywhere.
