e55 vs sl55 hp
Ok e55 says it has 469hp and sl55 says it has just over 500hp.
Now is that true coz a friend said he seen a stock sl55 dyno 400rwhp and that is what most e55's dyno. so whats the deal do stock sl55's make more power then stock e55's on the dyno?
To show that they really do have more hp stock ?

Up to '07, it was simply marketing. The E55 was only $100k loaded, while all other 55ks were closer to $200k. All platforms dyno'd closely and the SL55 has always been side by side with the E55k.
In 2007 and forward, the SL55 got the 82mmTB upgrade and so MB bumped the claimed numbers by 25hp. A stock 2007 SL55 should dyno the 25hp higher than most E55s, which will be about 410hp to the floor. Rumor has it that some '03 ones also had a larger TB and or dyno'd higher but I have never seen it be fact. It is true, however, that '03 - '04s have run faster than the newer models. Most of that difference is going away with the more recent tunes that challenge TQ Management.
