Do you know how actuaries set liability rates, it is interesting science.
As more model specific cars have more accidents the rates go up, so in that regard it makes a difference.
Back in the day I could afford the "doctor killer" 930 Porsche, but the insurance cost as much as the car, and it still pisses me off today. Why? because "Some rich guy who didn't have enough of common sense or brain" made the 930 the most dangerous car on the road.
Like it or not this guy was rolling in an AMG and his actions are a bad reflection on all of us, I hate to see this, reminds me of the Arizona accident
I would like to think all of my buddies here are safe drivers in their 500 hp cars.

My sympathies to the young woman’s family and loved ones.
A tragically stupid decision to drive while tanked by the plastic surgeon. Perhaps a lousy round of golf after work set him off? One would think he had attended to enough alcohol-related ER victims during his residency to know better. His was a willful act, i.e., not an ‘unavoidable’ accident.
Seems rather disingenuous for some to cast blame upon the hapless victim for her choice of personal vehicle. Probably the best she could swing. Although no one here would ever want their friend/spouse/family member to ride in anything but the safest of high-end transports, it’ll invariably happen on occasion despite his or her best intentions.
Can only hope it’s not some drunken idiot that causes their demise when things go awry.

Thats my point! Yes the Dr. did it, I agree 100%. He was 100% wrong, the point is, we as AMG owners are not well represented by this tool. The OP comment about this Dr. not being a good ambassador, to me means the Dr. is not Representative of most AMG owners or drivers. He did us no favor. I enjoy the perception of the general public that the E55 is a safe car mostly driven by smart, successful, mature people, and certainly people above doing anything as stupid as drunk driving.
Guns????
The M1, M14 Good guns.......![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The AK 47 Bad gun......![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
I know guns don't kill people,,, bad people just use AKs more often.
Guys at the end of the day the family of the ballerina is going to go after the Dr. in a court of law. If you think for a minute the car will have nothing to do with the outcome of that litigation, you are in a dream world.

I do not like drunk drivers. I was hit head on by a drunk driver a little less than a year ago as he was going 80 MPH and myself 45 MPH (If i wasn't in a german car I think I would be like the ballerina). Breaking many of my bones, and destroying a car I built that was priceless, and landing my engine in the passenger seat.

I remember thinking to myself when seeing video of the accident on WRAL that it looked like an E55/63 that the (ex)surgeon was driving... Glad his was black and mine is white, that way no one seeing me on the roads of North Raleigh could confuse us! I see listed that if he is found guilty of second degree murder, the sentence is only 4.5 years! What a disgrace!

That's disgusting. 4.5yrs for someone's life? While drunk no less. It should be life PLUS 4.5 additional years for his rotting carcass to sit in the jail cell and decompose while the rats eat away at him. Obviously I have no patience for drunk drivers.
