Anyone else experienced this problem with the gas cap warning sign popping up then check engine sign?
Any ideas please let me know.

The cap may need replacing, if it is not sealing correctly. The CEL will go away after a few start/shutdown cycles.

+1...replace your gas cap,then the check engine light will be disappear.

Dealer replaced it before. The problem was here in NJ they have gas attendants pumping your gas and little do they know MB is very sensative to how the caps are closed. You can close the cap half way clock wise which it seems to be closed but isn't.
Had a friend scan the car and erased the codes which were related to the gas cap.
