Radio Static and Head Unit Shutting Off
Hey Guys,
I've been having a problem with my E55 head unit. It sometimes does not like to turn on and I have to wait a few hours before it will. Then the other day, my radio just started to static constantly and it did so for 2 days. After that, it decided to go back to normal out of nowhere. It has given me static previously but it would go away after the car warmed up or if I left it outside at night. When I leave it in the garage, it does not give me any problems. Has anyone experienced issues like these with their E55 or similar issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I think it's your "audio gateway" which is located in the trunk behind the driver's side carpeting (near the Nav unit, if you have one).
My master tech seems to think it won't be the head unit that is in the dash.
Anyone else have this problem?

Similar - I found it to be the new NAV disc I used. System was wacko for ages with the new disc and today seemed to have settled down. Lets hope anyway.
The radio would just switch off and on ... randomly. Whenever it switched on it would be on the NAV page, regardless of where it was before. Radio did work though...
I dunno if the cause is the same?
I also installed the BT iphone dock ... not bad unit btw... perhaps it has something to do with the problem??
