Need some help with Burned CDs not working
As the title says, I am out of ideas. The burned CDs (whether in MP3 format or CDAudio format) do not play correctly in either the top single drive or the six disc changer. The first song usually plays fine, but skipping to other songs usually results in a long pause and the CD ejecting from the single drive or the system just locking up on the six disc drive (I can change inputs to SAT or RADIO though). I've tried different blank CD brands, different burning programs, different burning speeds. The dealer tried command firmware updates and finally replaced the entire head unit (which included the single drive) and six disc changer (love entended warranties) and still have the same problem.
Store bought CDs (had to go back to my old CD albums to find them) have worked fine in all my testing.
I am out of ideas and hoping someone else has had this exact problem.
Thanks!
Edit: In the previous command unit, sometimes skipping songs would result in a long pause and the next song finally playing but showing 18 seconds on the play time when it actually just started.

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
The only thing I can contribute here is the fact that I have had NO problems on any W211 car with recorded CDs including MP3s (only first 99 songs in 6disc deal I believe).... but that's all I use and they all work fine !

I found it works more reliably if you put the songs all in the root folder. So don't use sub folders. Also keep the files names short and try not to have spaces in the file names.

Thanks for all the help so far. I did burn the files on another computer and the system at least plays them and advances correctly now. However, it messes up the time of the songs.
For example, I can skip to another song but it will be in the middle of the next song even though it shows the time of the song at the beginning (ie 0 seconds)....and if I switch to another folder it will still lock up and eject the disc with a CD error on the screen...so something is still not right.
Will experiment further with CD medias used and burning speeds (did try the lower burning speeds before with no success).
Is there any other part to the system that could be defective that could cause this?
Thanks.
