Memory setting confusion-please help

I'm having trouble figuring out how my car is supposed to work. My car is equipped with keyless-go and I have my car set to key dependent. My question is this......are the memory seat settings supposed stay the same whether I am using keyless-go or if I put the key in the ignition (using the same key)?

I only realized this while I was trying to figure out a different problem. All of a sudden, my seat seems to move forward after I exit the vehicle. I am the only person who drives my car. My wife does have a key, but it stays in the house. What could be causing this. I have the convenience entry mode set to steering wheel only. That was another strange thing - even if I set the entry mode to off, the steering wheel moves.....it just doesn't move back.

Why can't MB have the same common sense approach to smart keys as BMW has had since at least 2000. My wife's 3 series works great. If you use the key's remote to unlock the vehicle, everything automatically moves to your last setting.....by the time you get into the car, everything is where it is supposed to be. I love my MB, but I find it crazy that it doesn't have some of the features that my wife's 9 year old bimmer has. RDS radio, useful smartkeys, seat heaters that stay hot if you want them to, etc.
