LOL....

Based on my personal experience and the countless time slips I've seen from 55k engines at various DA, I am 99% sure his car would do much better than the correction offered by dragtimes for F/I engines. His correction results will actually be closer to NA correction offered also on dragtimes.com

In my estimation, at zero DA, his car is "easily" capable of 11.7 ........ 0.2 seconds may not seem like much, but to those addicted, it's a LOT

Kool I can live with that. Well my 82mm TB is ordered, has anyone fitted a 82mm TB to a 74mm VRP Airbox? Or should I just sell it and try to find a airbox fitted for a 82mm TB? Will I for sure need a Retune? Thanks

RennTech's v3 air box should do the trick.... it's been proven a few times when coupled with the 82 mm TB, just ask bassn_07

Mercedes
You should get a retune with the 82mm TB. The airbox would be a good add on too!

What would happen if I didnt get a retune right away? would I just not have full power or would there be some thing else?

I went from a 78mm to a 82mm and it definitely leaned out my car. I wouldn't call it lean enough to be considered unsafe but definitely not where I wanted my cars AFR's. Take it that you're going from stock to 82mm I would think a re-tune would be highly recommended.

2004 Chrysler Crossfire
It is possible to have two ECU's without having to spend $2K for a new ECU. You can pick up used ECU's pretty cheap and then have it unlocked by Beckmann Technologies cost about $250. Once unlocked you can program it to your car very easily by running initial start up in STAR DAS. I have a cloned STAR Diagnostic System which you can buy on Ebay and using a special security key, I now have it in developer mode. Beiing able to unlock and ECU and code it with developer mode is the key to successfully swapping engines. I recently put a V8 in my Crossfire (same as R170SLK320) and you should see what the values are! The ECU was out of a CL500 and it now thinks it is a R170 SLK500 (never prodeced) with Crossfire tires sizes, 3.27 rear end, with a Chrysler VIN stored in it. Developer mode is used by the factory to develop new models and prototypes. It is in German only but you can make all kinds of crazy changes including removing the speed limiter.
