WOW!!! I will not ask this anymore thought you guy's loved your cars. Mid 30's Low 30's? Guess that's what you get when asking armchair E guy's. I hope your not driving in this state of mind it's illegal. I think this is what you guys hope to spend. I spent $47k back in August. I'm in the car for $55K. It had 18K miles on it then. I have spent $8K on upgrades. I guess I paid 12 grand too much and the upgrades are worthless?

An unmodded low mileage E55 is actually worth more. Anyway, the formula for upgrades is around only a 10% return. In the Porsche world, buying stock is considered a better buy. Mods are kinda subjective and also might be problem areas. Means you have to find the right buyer.
Plus you can still get new 2009 left over E63s heavily discounted.
Lots of things going on out there that keep pushing prices down these days.

With that said, for the most part any money you put into mods is lost as soon as it's spent. The used market for these cars (and all other upper end cars) is fairly small. There are a lot more people interested in stock vehicles than modified vehicles. For me, I wouldn't consider a modified car.....to me it means the car was probably driven hard.....harder than an average owner in a stock car. AMG cars start off as niche vehicles.....take a used one and start modifying it and you have a much smaller niche. Just my opinion.

A pewter car is never gonna sell in the low 40s. He will be lucky to get high 30s. There is one on Ebay here in Cin. Oh at a dealer with 28k that has ran for 3 months and $37900 and no bites.

just got mine in september from a dealer for $40k after taxes, title, and fees. 06 with pano roof and 29k miles under warranty til march 2010 also. i would expect to pay a little less from a private seller (especially one that put 7k miles on in less than 3 months and is looking to sell, no offense)
i'd say $35-36k
i'd say $35-36k

E63 AMG
You just have to decide how much you are willing to lose. You will never get back what you have into it. I agree with the guys here that 35-36k is probably as good as you're going to do right now.

I just picked one up. This market is great for buyers and crappy for sellers.

So - you spent $12K in 3 months, put 7500 miles on it - between modding and driving, did you sleep????
You simply won't get money back on mods. Unless someone knows someone - your mods will likely wreak havoc on the remaining warranty - so they cold easily be considered a detriment. You also took a low mileage car and turned it into an average mileage car in that time period.
How do you go from modding the heck out of something to selling it in 90 days?
I know some people are finicky - but - honestly- finicky ain't cheap.... and I think you are finding that out.
Despite what the White House says - I don't think the news about 'recovery' has hit the used luxury car market yet.....

E55 AMG
I agree with Mamba- I picked an 03 E55 stock, with 48K miles on it for 20k flat sale. They wanted money quick. Lucky me :-)
PS- stickered at 96K back in 03- every option on the car.

I think you also have to look at options and really your car does not have many at all your list reads like Premium package and Lightiing package.
Here is an idea of the options availibe on our cars

In the end it's only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. And these days buyers are out looking for deals.... if they're going to spend any money at all.

The only way you are going to get your $$ out of the mods is someone has the cash.
I had a 25k mile GTO with 6k paintjob, $10k built motor, 800 hp, Everyone wanted it but no one could get financed for the extras. I was only asking 4k over what a non built one would go for. I wound up selling all the performance stuff. Don't really expect a return on investment on performance mods. You will get 50% of value at best unless you get an impulse buyer.
