**OT** - New Toy -retro aussie car

I know this is way off topic but thought I would share a new toy I have ordered to go in the garage next to the benz. This is the new "blue meanie" from HDT which is the aftermarket arm of Holden (GM). HDT has in the last couple of years started recreating retro muscle cars much like the new Camaros/Mustangs/Challengers etc over there. The original blue meanie was created by an aussie legend racing driver Peter Brock who a few years ago put his Daytona into a tree racing and was killed. It is based on the current model Commodore which I believe was/is sold in the states as a Pontiac G8(??).

The original blue meanie from 1985 looked like:

The new one:

They are only making 250 of these so prices are expected to increase, as with the original models which now fetch 6 figures. I have ticked all the boxes which means she will come with the stonking 7ltr supercharged V8 which is good for 500kw and 1000nm of tq (yes 1000).

The styling is all very muscle and is more monster than class but will make a good investment that is more fun than property or stocks! Build time is a while off but I will definately be heading to the track to see what sort of times I can manage. Obvioulsy traction is going to be problematic.

Hope you like

2006 Mercedes E55
is it based on the Pontiac G8 ? I know that is a US model but thought its roots were aussie and this seems to have some similar styling components. Looks meaty! I like

That is a monster...not feeling the wheels but that can easily be fixed.

Well it is based on the current model SS Commodore with styling from the original blue meanie. The G8 was basically a Commodore with a different nose.
