Man those older boxy S-class were the sh#* back when I was younger. They're hecka huge as all too. But, sadly I only see those cars in the not-so-good parts of town these days. If it's in immacculate condition and it hasn't been limo-tinted and dubbed out, I'd say its still a very classy car to have.

If its clean go for it. I've been looking for the right W210 E55. Everyone has certain cars they just love for one reason or another. For me there's a couple, the E30 M3, 944 Turbo, RX7 Turbo, '69 Camaro...oh I could go on. So my point is DO IT! haha

Thanx all your response, I just like the boxy old but classic.
The car looks classic and also elegant + Mini-tank. In California I can still find few ones with good conditions. Looking from 96 to 99 Black on Black.
Well, they are pretty cheap today from $4K to $6K depending condition.
Hope find one and will post pix !

I thought of doing the same thing a while back. I even found some for like $3-4K, it's RIDICULOUS. Can't beat that bang for the buck. Reason why I ixnayed it is because of reliability fears, and cost to operate, those things are majorly over-engineered so if something fails, you could be in pretty deep. Just fixing the A/C from what I understand is a huge task, requires disassembly of the whole Dash if I'm not mistaken.
Never loved the look of those things in a "beauty" sense as I'm not into giant boxes, but as an M-B enthusiast I love and appreciate it as a classic, and it was such a beastly statement at the time.
