E55 performance/ upgrade questions..
Hello, I have been looking around here for a while. I am in the process of finding a '03-'06 E55 in black for a second daily driver. I have driven a few E55s and was curious if the there was a way to alter shift points and make it shift harder all the time. Also, what bolt on mods do you guys recommend? What is the widest wheel& tire set up you can go with? I am a performance guy and it seems these cars respond pretty well to bolt ons. I sent a PM to Alan but had no responce yet, his car seems to run well. All my other cars are modded and I am looking forward to possibly getting into a E55 also.
thanks in advance,
SW

SW- welcome. I am no longer in the E55 game, but there are several people on this forum who can help. I would suggest PMing Marcus Frost or Nick55 for starters. Marcus is a dedicated E55 owner who mods his cars and is a wealth of knowledge on the platform. Nick is an MB tech who has done some great work on AMG's for several members of this forum.

Dude, chill. SW is a well known and highly respected member of several other forums. I realize his stable list might make you question if he is a poser, but I assure you he is not. You might want to do a little research before you question things. First aleks' thread and now this one? C'mon man.

StreetKing- I definitely have seen you in a few other forums. Very nice stable.
Don't you have 2 super crazy supra's? Might be confusing you if not.
Welcome and in terms of Bolt ons:
Pulley, Long tube headers, 82mm Throtle Body, Front mount Heat echanger, a custom Tune, and you are north of 500whp. It's what most members with strong E's are running. Happy modding.

I do want more than 500whp and still have some tranny concerns.

No worries on the tranny, I have yet to see an E55 have tranny problems due to power. That is one dept you will not have problems with. There are a few guys running 10's all day and no issues.
I will let them chime in.

Godspeed got the mods, the tune can adjust shift points, firmness, and torque management. With a stable like that you must dread beautiful days
. Least when it rains you have a better idea of what to drive!

Camaro and ZR1 look very menacing. Bigger pulley, tune, headers, throttle body, and cooling package will all greatly improve performance. As for wheels, I run 20x8.5 with 245-30-20 and 20x10 with a 285-25-20 and the car sits perfect. I think I can squeeze a 295 but that's pushing it. GL with your search.
