Gents, I subscribe to one of the top internet providers in the nation, and at risk of getting viruses, my e-mail settings are wide open. So, my e-mail works perfectly well to receive messages. Also, I am not a regular camper on MBWorld, so communications via PM creates long delays. Accordingly, I don't conduct business via PMs.
My badges are hand signed and serial numbered for those who consider them collector's items. For instance, there are less than 20 AMG badges currently in circulation. Accordingly, the best and fairest way for me to keep requests in order received is to request communications initiated by folks to my e-mail address. Thanks for your help and understanding.

I can assure everybody here (and speaking from experience) that DFWdude has a valid email address and will ship asap the minute you place your order. Don't ask him here and don't ask about pricing, delivery, etc.. Just email him and and your order will be quickly fulfilled. He's very quick sending them out.
p.s., I have a question that others might be curious about, too. Are the "second run" of White Stars going to have a new type of serial number designation? I purchased an extra White Star when you announced you were closing down production, just so I could get one of the last ones. Although now that exclusivity and value has disappeared due to this new run of them

As for production numbers, the first "run" of WHITE STARS ended at #N365, and the second run picked up where the first run ended (N366+). I thought this was more fair than starting a new sequence of serial numbers beginning at "X"001.
Based on my tracking of sales to date, however, unless you live in Southern CA, the chances of running into another car with a WHITE STAR are almost nil (slightly better in So Cal). IMO, there could be 2500 of these in circulation (worldwide) and they would still be very rare and unique.
With the switch to the new factory, the new run of badge inserts (the part within the Blue Laurel Wreath) have slight changes vs the first run. The new inserts are .020" smaller in diameter (for improved production). You would have to compare the two examples side-by-side, and you might still be hard pressed to tell the difference.
The second and biggest change is that the new inserts are deeper in relief... there is more depth from the top level of the star to the textured background. This gives a more accentuated 3D effect. This also means that the first run badges are unique in their design, ending at serial #365. Hope that helps?
And as this is written there are less than 15 AMG badges on the planet. That is very rare, indeed.
I constantly try to improve my product, and my customer service, and trust that everyone appreciates it.

Thanks, sy1616. You should post a picture of the badge on your ride. I'm sure others would like to see it.

Sort of off topic question. I have an S63 '08 and the grill has a Merc logo on it already. Is there a replacement grill available in the same design as the OE without the indent for the badge or suggest a large star version that would fit my car. Just don't want to put a badge on top of a badge, too much for my taste. Comments would be appreciated and sorry for the thread hyjack.
Just to add to the other comments, my white star badge looks just great, thanks DFWdude.

DFW,
Got my badge Friday (2 days). Haven't installed it yet, but will when the car "comes out". Thanks again for your good service.

Bought both the AMG and the White Star - top notch quality and FAST delivery. Thanks DFWDude!!!!!!! The White star is simply stunning but I'm rocking the AMG for now. I'll post pics of both when I get back home next week. For now it's just crappy point in shoot stuff of Gunsight v. No Gunsight.

As would be expected, somebody on EBay is already ripping of DFWdude's AMG design. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Metal...Q5fAccessories
For all you newbies out there, don't fall for it. DFWdude's flat badges are the one and only originals.

No offense 220s, but that guy has been selling them for at least 3-5 years or more. I bought mine 3 years ago from him and he was already a very big seller selling just badges, so I do not think he is copying or ripping off DFWdude.

I would beg to differ. I know he is a sponsor here and has a good reputation but that does not mean the other seller has not been selling them longer and or has bad products. Here is a photo of his badge on my car.

Mikey - it does look good on your car. From a personal standpoint, after receiving DFWdude pieces, I would not even consider another option. Once again, didn't mean to say you didn't get a quality piece, I just think from the pictures, a little more goes into the design of DFWdudes badges. Either way, I'm glad you're as happy with yours as I am with mine

The result is a "double bump" appearance in the e-Bay badge, with an interchangeable Tristar (or AMG) button plopped on top of the rest of the mount. This effect is not very "flush" when viewed from the side on the hood, IMO. In contrast, my WHITE STAR sits truly flush with the rest of the mount, with the hatched background detail actually recessed below the top level for depth. For just $20 more than the e-Bay version, I feel my WHITE STAR Flat Badge provides a larger, more visible and integrated star image.
On the AMG version, I tried to make the letters as large as possible so that it can actually be read as "AMG" from a distance. IMO, the decoration in the e-Bay badges are not big enough to make the BOLD, visual statement worthy of Mercedes-Benz style. I don't know, maybe others would agree?
BTW, The e-Bay badge may have been around for a while, but I first became aware of it only 12-18 months ago... and as a retired professional product developer, I scan the market constantly... I designed my product in late 2005, and have been selling WHITE STAR Flat Badges since July, 2006, almost 4-years ago. The e-Bay version is therefore not a copy of my design. But I can assure all that it is a copy of my "concept" in adapting the standard upright star mount into a flat badge... This is my original idea. I'm confident in leaving the choice of the prettier badge to the marketplace.
Both are better than the cheap plastic badges that slap on top of the hood, paint-fade in the Sun within a couple years, and snag a carwash towel all the time.
Other opinions?

+1. I agree 100%, dude. Your badges are bold, while the ebay ones look pitifully anemic in comparison. I wouldn't worry about this competition.
