itsmeek - I said with "some" of the quickest. There are extreme's in every group and 10's is extreme and I will NOT try to compare to those guys. Mine is keeping up with "most" for now. Its a full interior daily driver and runs very good. I have not had the advantage of an ATCO, MIR, or Famosa track conditions but if I can run mid 11's down here in Florida the car "should" run low 11's in great weather conditions. I believe low 11's is running with "most" of the "55" guys. For an NA car they are great cars. No slam on the VERY FAST "55" list. Those are incredible cars!! Be safe!

That was run two weeks ago in Florida.
Not gonna start an argument and a stroker kit is complicated but its gonna make a great car! I love FI also so lets not argue about that.

It IS fast- compared to stock, my e55 is unmodded and you would probably hand me my ***. On the other hand I have a 2.0 liter 1996 mitsubishi w/less than $5k in mods running very low 10's (and tadaaaaaaa! it's reliable because, I'm not an 18 yr old kid throwing on crap parts). But we're talking modified and potential here. To be honest with you, I would take a 3.5 liter twin turbo c class over my e55 if it were available..
FT- I saw a car that looks ALMOST exactly like yours last week driven by some asian dude that was PIMPING like no tomorrow. Complete w/AMG badges and wheels but still retaining the cls550 or was it 500??? badge as well.
What is that list you posted saying???

Full throttle - when they run side by side in similar conditions then we can dabate. Until then its key board racing. These cars are fun and I did not intend to get into a long discussion this morning. Enjoy what you have!!

DadC63 - Do you have your time slip for your 11.45 run? I'm just curious to know what the DA was during your run. Me personally, I would love to run one of you highly modded C63's to see how I stack up. I would consider my car a highly modded bolt-on E55 just like your C63.
As for 60-130 times....I tried this run only once and spun 50-65 with a passenger and still ran a 8.4 on a incline. I don't have proof of this run because I personally didn't think it was worth talking about.
Edit: You ran in -500 DA and you're talking about Florida conditions? I haven't even ran my car in -500 DA yet but when I do I bet I'll be in the low 10.7's with a good launch. Time will tell.

This is wonderful news...once again AMG making sure the 4.4 V8TT that BMW was supposed to put into the M5 doesn't trump it's E-Class AMG. Also if the C-Class AMG model is something like what they did to the C63, tuning galore will opening up. A 5.5 DI V8 TT on a 4 Door Sedan is nuts already, if the new C-Class carries the same engine but "detuned", its off to the races the tuners go similiar to how the 6.2 was unlocked.

Bottom line is ...
FI is more efficient - and turbos are more efficient than S/C's.
The lag thing is almost history with Direct injection and Variable turbos a la Porsche.
Talking about Porsche they may have scored a major own goal here with the 997.2 TT. Its a blown version of the 997 3.8 carrera motor (A91 I think), so not the M64 motor from the GT1. All new turbo. No cylinder sleeves, etc etc so modding this unit is going to way more tricky than the trusted and tested M64. Who knows how DI is going to affect things. One major problem with DI is sooty inlet valves as the fuel no longer cleans them out...
Rumours have it that Porsche struggled to get it to 500hp without things going "pop", but this would be highly unusual for Porsche and I would be surprised. We shall see.
So, as a caveat, not all FI cars can handle turning up the wick.

I am starting to dislike MBWorld for past two weeks, too much bs lately, turbo/supercharged vs NA is so 2003. For each it is own, but with the amount of money that 63 cost to tune, 55 engine is cheaper and you get more out of it.
