rocketE63 - Have you had any luck? I just purchased my 2007 E63 a week ago and I too noticed that my car will not break the tires loose from a stop with ESP off, in manual mode in 1st gear. My car was first purchased in late 06 I believe. I'm gonna try to get the engine and trans calibrations updated at the dealer tomorrow if possible. I just wanted to ask if you have had any success on solving your/our problem yet.

When I went to the dealer to discuss this perceived problem, I asked the shop foreman to take my car for a drive to see if it felt normal (I rode along). The car pulled strong during the drive and the guy said it felt normal. He left ESP activated and so of course it didn't spin the tires, although it felt like it was right on the edge of breaking loose. He said he didn't think it needed anything, so I didn't put the car into the shop. Unless I find that it is truly lacking power based on a quantitative measure, I'll leave it like it is.
Thanks for your reply MB_Forever, I plan on hitting the gas pretty aggressively to retrain my tranny.

can u call it a cpu ?? maybe . it adapts your tranny to your daily driving , if u tend to drive in C mode and like an old lady then it will perform like that as well. When we reset it then i just go nuts with the car for a few hours so the tranny adapts to my agressive driving ,
Does work for sure . Exactly what MB forever told u to do but adding a tcu reset to whipe the old memory .

E63,,,not any more,,,BMW X5 50i
I too have had issues with my acceleration. My biggest complaint is a slight hesitation (still) but not as often just off idle. I can smoke the tires in first with the ESP off, but not on. I guess a tune would probably solve most of my issues, but still un-decided as to who had the best and most important a reliable tune.
Any suggestions...?????

My car burns tires like crazy as soon as I give it full throttle. You may want to check if the tranny is starting in 2nd gear. In Sports mode, the car should start in 1st gear not second. Some of the early 07 models used to always start in 2nd, but there has been a software update by Mercedes that fixed that problem back in February of 2007.
My problem is that I parallel import my E63 from the US to Taiwan and the authorized dealer may not want to work on my car at all. Luckily STAR computer are readily available at local independent MB shops but question is that, Are these type of updates done via STAR?
