Is anyone heading up from Norcal? If yes could you please do me a favor and bring the AMG flag to Famoso for me. I was lucky enough to have it for this long and since I missed a couple events it needs to be up for grabs again. Maybe Josh could reclaim the flag once again before doomsday.

Not sure yet..... I will be able to get a confirmation maybe 2 to 3 days before the event because of the ever-changing weather. If I have to guess, I would say gates open at 10:30 am, start racing at 11:00 am and stop at 6:00 pm just like we did last time but don't quote me on that yet.
How many people are we looking at thus far?

You just have to be willing to make the events and be the fastest AMG out there. Maybe you could challenge Rick's nitrous fed beast to a heads up race, how did it go....
I think that means he wants to race with street tires, no ice or nitrous on either car and race heads up.
If I meet someone at a street light it's on. no tire change , no ice me up, it" lets do it. LOL..

It's hard to estimate the count as the people are constantly signing up and and dropping off too many lists on different forums. I should have a solid count after the payment deadline.

Guys, I've been getting a lot of questions and concerns regarding the "rainy" weather on Saturday and whether the event was still on. So let me clear this up for everyone: as of right now we are still 100% ON for the event. As usual, the weather sites all disagree on how the weather is going to be on Saturday but I would not take them too seriously as they literally change every few hours as shown below. The track management team works very closely with a local weather station and they get their updates directly from them. So until they call me and say we can't race, which may or may not happen, the event is still on.
Here is the latest snapshot of weather.com, and as you can see, just two days ago, they were showing 50% chance of rain, then yesterday they were showing 40% and now they are down to 20%..... so they're definitely coming around

Now lets focus less on weather and more on breaking records, as this will be our last big event for the next 11 months!!!!!! Our cars will take a well-needed rest as the weather gets hotter

Just a reminder..... tonight is the last date to send payment and sign-up for this event.... I think we have only 2 spots available. After this, we won't have another private rental for 11 months. I should have another update by tonight or tomorrow morning regarding final count, exact start/end times, and a few other things.

Looks like there is going to be some good air in the morning hours. It appears like it will be around -100 to 100 density altitude before noon. Hopefully this weather holds out because I am READY!

Track Event Postponed.....
**** NEW DATE AGAIN: 01/30/2010 ****
Guys, I'm so sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but believe it or not the event is now postponed to January 30th. There are two main reasons for this:
1) Despite all weather prediction sites and even weather stations confirming that there is 0% chance of rain (until after 10 pm) on Saturday, there will be a lot of fog on Saturday morning. We just got confirmation that the track area will see dense fog on Friday night and Saturday morning, which unfortunately, does not clear up until noon to 1:00 pm, and would of course kill half of our racing day immediately. And no matter how many times they warm up the track with the burners, fog will condense immediately as soon as it lands on top of the hot surface and will create an un-safe slippery condition.
2) Eight people canceled at the last minute. This put a big dent in our rental cost. So, I'm actually reducing the rental size and insurance coverage for amount of cars allowed to race on the track for that day. From now on, there will be no reserving spots and no paying at the track or paying last minute or after the deadline. All payments sent to JSunner's account will be given to track management directly by him along with a list of participants. You must cancel at least 48 hours in advance to give a chance to fill the spot by someone else. Anyone not on the list will not be able to race that day but is welcomed to come as a spectator.
New deadline for payment is end of day Tuesday, January 26th 2010
I'm sorry again for the bad news everyone, but it was truly out of my control.
If anybody on the list can not make it on the 30th, please PM me and I will have them refund your money instantly.... Okay..... so two more weeks.... 8 more spots to fill..... more mods to do..... so let the fun begin
