Help please
Hi enthusiasts,
My mechanic friend says I need new front e55 rotors now. Could someone recommend a set for me? Don't want to even ask the dealership, lol
Also my right low beam bulb just went out. So I guess I'll replace both left and right with some silverstars, which set is it?
Also need new brake pads, something with no dust, I saw that the Akebono's are the best choice, but where should I buy those from?

Dont cheap out on rotors. The dealer sells them for @$125 a piece which is a great deal. You may save $25 on some off brand crap but you will be sorry. There are vendor sponsors here that can get you the pads.

Silverstars, though better than stock, are not very impressive. A decent aftermarket 55w HID kit will substantially improve things and is even brighter than the oem HID. I would avoid many of the Chinese kits though and get a quality unit which can still be had for under $65 shipped.

Sorry GrantwoodTX, didn't see your post. Go to www.parts.com to order rotors and pads, they have the best prices on Mercedes parts around. Front rotors for your E55 are $88 bucks, front pads are $188, I would go with either Akebonos, or Porterfields. I can't answer your lighting issues, but silverstars would be a perfect option.

AKEUR983 & AKEUR984 are the correct part numbers.

Ok, so I popped the hood to remove the stock hid bulbs. But I can't figure out how for the life of me. I took off the covers that close off the bulbs to the engine bay off each side, but can't remove the actual bulbs.
How do I do this without taking the lights out?

First you say you want Silverstars which would indicate halogen bulbs, then post up a link to HID bulbs which will not work. Are you looking for a HID kit? Or do you have OEM HID and the Silverstar reference above a mistake?

Gotcha, Phillips always makes good bulbs. What temp are you getting? Higher the bluer but with less light output. 5k is generally a nice trade off.

I guess I'll get the 6000k kit that I linked. I just want white and bright.
Still need to know how to remove the stock bulbs. So far all I could do was take off the two circular covers.
