Got the LET Stage 1 Tune Done Yesterday
First off a big thanks to Tony and Jerry at Eurocharged Performance/LET Motorsports for their help. I live in AZ so I had the tuning latop sent to me. Everything worked great and I plan on buying their upgraded HE in the next month or so and then the 172MM pullies by summer. (600 TQ here I come!) ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Overall performance is definitely up by 35-40HP/TQ. It's especially noticiable at around 3,000 RPM and is simply a beast now!
I had a 3 or 5 series BMW tailgaiting me last night coming home from work in traffic (it had those 'angle eyes' headlights so I easily noted it as a BMW) and after about 3 minutes with it being on my bumper going 55 MPH I hit the hyperspace button...sorry gas pedal...when traffic opended up and less than 2 seconds later I was at 90 MPH and I never say the BMW again. It literally disapeared. I'm guessing my 0-60 MPH is now at 4 seconds flat and I'd trap in the low 12's in the quarter at 115 MPH - 120 MPH.
I drive 100 miles to work and back every day so now my smile is just a bit wider arriving at work or coming home.
I would highly recommend this tune especially for the price to HP gains.

I did the LET tune too and was amazed at how much more responsive the car was. I haven't done the HE and Pulley yet as I used up the stash I had by goning through 3 sets of tires this year!

All,
I just did the Stage 1 LET tune (So ECU Flash only) rather than the Stage 1 "package" which is the tune AND pulleys. I'll get the pulleys after I buy the upgraded HE from them because of the heat here in Phonenix in the summers (115-120F).
Once I have all of that, plus my existing K&N's and Johnson pump I should be at 600 TQ (at crank) and 550HP (Again at crank), and I still have the TB and headers to go!
My goal in the next 12 months is to attain 650-700TQ/HP car again at crank.
Thanks!

Yeah I'm looking at tires as well as I still have the stockers as well and my car is now 27K miles. Still I'm trying to put all my mod money into HP/TQ gains first before moving on to cosmetic and tires.

Hammer Down,
How ironic, I grew up in N.Cal, Cuperitno specifically, SJSU Grad, parents went to USF, and moved here to AZ about 6 years ago simply for cost of living. Work in Scottsdale but live in Queen Creek, hence my daily commute.
As much as I loved N.Cal and all my family is still there, the cost of living the the Bay Area was crazy in the late 90's/2000's in the Dot.com Boom era (Santa Clara County Median House price was $750k!) I decided to get out of Dodge so I could afford a nice house.
No regrets but it's a gorgeous area and I make it back there every few months to see the family.

I moved here (Gilbert) from NYC nearly 4 years ago at the height of the housing market unfortunately but it was still cheaper then living in NYC. How difficult was the tune? Did you just do everything in the street?

Dychen:
The tune was easy. I had them send me their laptop and tuning hand held unit, and did it all in my garage. As long as you have internet access (I like you I'm sure have wireless) they remote into the laptop and they simply walk you through all the steps on the phone. "OK Plug in the serial connector to..., etc,etc..."
Total time was about 30 minute tops and it all went very smoothely. I paid $599 for the Stage 1 Tune and $45 to ship them back the laptop and tuning handheld for 35-40HP/TQ permanent gains and did it all in at my home. For the price and the HP gains it's a bargin. While I haven't dyno'd it yet to get "official numbers" for the price it's awesome..
Most other E55 Mods to get 35-40HP you'll have to spend $1,000+ (Throttle body, pulleys etc).

That's great to hear! Congrats on the mod!
I'm pretty positive that will be the route I go this summer.
I'm glad to hear it went so smooth for you!

AWOL: I've been hearing 60-70 w/ pulley & tune. Difference is.... tune only is a lot less expensive (you don't have to pay a shop $700 or so to install a part) and less detectable by dealer / won't void warranty.
Question, though... if you buy a tune now, and plan on getting a pulley later, do you have to buy another tune when you get a pulley from them?

I've been told the same thing by Eurocharged (LET). You don't have to repay for another tune. Don't know the details but it sounds like great customer service from these guys.

Congrats Alex, nice to hear you are happy with the results. I've spoken with Greg over there a few times and EC seems like a great place to deal with.
^Quick question, are you guys sure about the free retune? I thought the tune that Alex has now is the same tune they use for pulley only (Stage 1)? Then if you add headers, the Stage 2 tune is prorated, and so on for Stage 3 or a custom dyno tune.

My plan is to do the HE next, which does not need a re-tune then the pulleys. I'll have the pulleys put on by a shop locally and time the laptop to arrive the next day so I can reflash it in my garage again.
With both tune and 172 Pulleys they told me it would be +100 TQ and +60 HP. So 616/540 at crank.
For what it's worth I could have had them tune my car as if they had pulleys but it would have run rich until I got the pulley's put on.
Again highly recommended.
Further clarification: Again per Tony and Jerry (who owns Let/Eurocharged) re-tunes are free of charge if you buy other things from them. (Pulleys, TB, headers, etc.) If you live near by them you can just drive to the shop and they have all the programs to retune everything.
I live in AZ so I need them to ship me the latop.
