Headlight Question

Hey all. I've got a pretty simple headlight question to run past the group.

I'm looking to get new headlights for my W211. It's a 2003-2006 model. The reason is that the lenses are getting kinda foggy and I'd like to make them look pretty again. Price isn't that bad for new units either.

I was wondering, can I fit 2007-2008 style lights in the car? Questions are, will they physically fit, and will they physically connect with the electric plugs and will they work. Not looking for the active driving stuff, just normal HID's.

Thanks for the help!

I think the overall dimensions of the light will fit but if I'm not mistaken the 03-06 cars use a D2S bulb and the newer cars use a D1S bulb, so I'm not sure if the connector on your car would work with the new ballast.

I have done that for my 2005E55 at the local dealer. Physically, it will perfectly fit; however, I have lost the auto vertical leveling and the dynamic cornering feature (lights turn with steering).

That's kinda what I was thinking would happen. Physically they'd fit, but electronically things have changed.

Great info guys. Thanks!
