SW, glad to have a car enthusiast such as yourself part of this community. Without a doubt some of the most beautiful eye candy to look at.
I looked up the Gallardo build on 6speed forums today (slow day at the office) and I probably stared at the engine photos for a good hour That thing must paint a huge grin every push of the pedal.
Great taste sir! Well done all around

You have an amazing collection of cars and your choice of mods are spot on.
I know you bought the E55 as a daily driver.... so.... I call dibs when your ready to sell her.

SW,
What are the specs on those rims? Size, offsets, lip size, and such? That lip is massive, love the look/stance!
I'd love to hear your impressions of the e55 after you get some more seat time in it.
Thanks!

SW: killer E55!!! word of advice on the MRR wheels, the quality is not great. the lip scratches very easily. my brother has those exact wheels on his SC430. bought them 3 yrs ago when they first came out. while they have sustained quite well with bumps and road debris (in terms of not bending), the finish of the wheels has definitly faded over time. the black is very faded and the lip is suspect to scratches and divots, etc... but he drives the car as a daily so i can expect issues as such. I doubt you will drive it that much so i think you'll be fine...but just a heads up...
Also, love your garage! my exact collection i would love to have one day. i really look forward to meeting you during the TX2K10 event. Myself and Eric Carver ("AtomicZ" with a 454ci from MN) will be coming down together. He is a good friend of mine and we race up here a lot. i have a Z07 packaged C5 corvette vert and i remember your white "no Mercy" car being a Z07 being the baddest machine on corvette forum. side note, i am indian as well... and mech/elec engineer... so either you are a doctor or a business owner with the toys you have... haha....
take care,
Aj

Ok, so I have spent some time in the E55. I like the car, its brutal fast in a straight line and sounds awsome. It's easy to drive as a daily driver. I don't like the transmission. The shifts are mild, the downshifts when just cruising are lazy and the handling is just "ok". I have ordered a custom set if equal length headers and a bigger throttle body. I then will get it retuned and see what power it will make. I am doing some research into getting the transmission to shift the way I like, so I will let you guys know what I come up with. Car is great, but for the way I drive, it just doesn't handle anywhere close to my M5. I would love to get rid of the factory airbag suspension, put some coilovers and big swaybars on it..

Real Cars
They just finished up the turbo kit and will be testing it with the stock motor, then the motor comes out, gets built and then power runs..

1.) People have tried numerous different things to "tighten" up the transmission but there has not been much success. The 722 series transmission in the E55 is shared across numerous chassis and is even found in some Chrysler vehicles. People have changed out valve bodies, done TCU programming, etc but I have yet to see anything available in the USA that definitively has changed the way the transmission shifts/feels. The one thing that DOES seem to do the trick is the AMG Manufaktur Speedshift Program however that is only available through AMG in Germany (as in, you have to bring your car to them). I am not sure if this is a control unit retune along with physical modification, or just one or the other, but I suspect it is both hence them requiring you to bring the car to them.
2.) The E55 can have it's pneumatic suspension swapped out, although no one has done it simply because most AMG drivers prefer the comfortable disposition of the way the car feels versus the harsher/sportier feel of the M5. Swapping out the suspension will also require changing some settings in the ECU so that it doesn't freak out, but that is relatively easy.
