BTW: don't use green filter .. i know there was a problem before. but they claim it is fix..... so I used it. guess again.

just went through this. i feel ur pain. expect to pay 8k to 9k for a low mileage engine. there are sme cheaper but they have higher mileage. some wold argue mileage isnt AS important as having the used engine completely disassembled and rebuilt. here is a good place to start

DAMN!!!!!

I have green filters that came with my Renntech airbox and after reading this I just ordered some new ones from my local store. They will be here tomorrow and the green filters will be out. This is the 2nd time I heard of them failing .

If you need someone to help you out with the install I have a great guy, he's a master tech and foreman of a bay area MB dealership.

DO NOT use green filters- I almost had one grenade my z06. I will never use them again.

the damn GREEN FILTER fell in. MBZ claims " unfilter air went in.
So we took off the charger and the blades are scatched up.
No Warr from MBZ.

Hmmm, check the accordian hoses that go to your ypipe and see if the metal support ring thats in the center didn't fall out of either side.

55wagon, sorry to hear your troubles. That has got to hurt. I've seen 55 motors for 6-7k. One is on Ebay with 45000 miles for $12k but that is just a stupid price.
