Issues with K&Ns???
Ever since my leaking manifold was fixed, I installed the K&Ns again and have been driving without no CEL for two weeks now. I do have another problem now. Under light acceleration the car seems to bog between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm. Basically it goes, then bog, bog, bog, and goes again. At first I thought it was due to the increased airflow and that the car has to adapt, but this has been happening for over two weeks now. This never happened with the stock filters....
On the plus side, the car seems to respond and rev a tad better under hard acceleration!

The charcoals have been removed. I know the K&Ns are oily, but they sat in my garage, opened and in the dry for a month... Wouldn't most of the oil evaporate?

Try:
1. Putting on the charcoals with the K&Ns; or
2. Putting on the stock filters without the charcoals.

ive had K&N in my 210 E55 & my 211E55K and have never had any type of issues i know if u clean them i recommand u clean them and don't use the oil if any at all. I know there have been issues with the oils causing damage to the MAF sensors. Other then that i would say they are great filters.

That's weird man, I would put the stock ones back in and see if the problem still persists. I remember reading something similar to your problem happening in a E63. I would get the dealer to look at it sounds like probably the TB or MAF?
