Stock for stock, I think the GT-R would be faster. And once you start modding, it is game over for the E. Just this last saturday at Famoso, Fantasm piloted his GT-R to a 10.84@130 mph on heavy rims and "bad" street tires (actually worse than stock tires). Granted his car is not stock, but all it has are some simple bolt-ons. Also, this was done in +1100 ft density altitude. I think he would've gotten 10.7x or even 10.6x had we had -200 ft.
My friend has a Silver GTR just like the one pictured. Cool car. Drove in it back from Vegas once and it was akin to having a picture of a naked female painted on the sheet-metal, with all the gawkers.

At the end of the day these 2 cars are like chalk and cheese. One is a 4 door luxury saloon that just happens to be a stealth missile and the other is a technological masterpiece racecar disguised as a civilised roadcar. Great ride - I bet it makes you smile.

Even if you would of taken a larger financial hit.. I think the move was a good one.
W211 E63 is a nice car.. but based on your previous rides.. prob not to the level of what you have experienced before.
W212 E55 twin turbo might do the trick.. by then you will moved on from the GTR..
us less fortunate.. will have to wait a few years before we can buy those toys.

K-A- yeah cool car for sure.... hauls for sure
ACB- I miss 4 doors, but man does the handling more that make up for that- we have a SUV for the baby hauler anyways
TopGun32- I can't wait to see what the E55TT in 212 is gonna do.... although I think we all have to either ignore the rear or hopefully MB will facelift and miraculously change the rear to look good-
