How did you deal with the depreciation hit of owning an AMG for 2 months???? That had to hurt. I don't mean this in anyway to be critical of your spending habits nor am I trying to tell you what to do. I like to trade cars around but I think this AMG might have to last a while

thanks everyone... Love the GTR.... even the wife loves it!
600hpvette- I got it at 27K off sticker and sold the car after that time with only a few thousand hit... not too bad. This would not have been an option if I had only gotten like 10 or 15k off the car... I feel bad for people who bought it at close to msrp.
Mpresiv- thanks..... btw for everyone, I am selling my renntech V3, Euro63rs with falken tires, and clears.... will post up soon!

Not sure.... the GTR feels faster, more than likely because of the lack of sound deadening and then the turbos spool making it sound like jet taking off. The E was just so quietly fast.. anyone raced the two to see? Gut says GTR!

Yeah, I think the GTR will dust the 63 in the 1/4 by A LOT. Then like Timeless said the short final gearing kinda kicks in. Enjoy that ride, there are like 5 in our auto club here, and they haul....

Start talking cars that are modified and the gap gets even bigger. A simple tune and y-pipe in the GTR will net you a 10.9 to 11.1 @ 125-128mph and that is by pulling up to the line and stomping it (NO BURNOUT). From the dig not too many cars will keep up with a GTR. Remember most Stage II to Stage IV E55 run 11.4-11.6 @122mph and that is with heating up the tires. Try to run a modified E55 without a burnout and you will be lucky if you see an 11.9et.
There are a number of 800hp-1000hp GTRs coming out and I would bet that you will soon see them in the 9s.

Stock for stock, I think the GT-R would be faster. And once you start modding, it is game over for the E. Just this last saturday at Famoso, Fantasm piloted his GT-R to a 10.84@130 mph on heavy rims and "bad" street tires (actually worse than stock tires). Granted his car is not stock, but all it has are some simple bolt-ons. Also, this was done in +1100 ft density altitude. I think he would've gotten 10.7x or even 10.6x had we had -200 ft.

Not sure if this was mentioned already or not, but why did you get rid of the E? I looked at a GTR the other day, and honestly, I wasn't impressed. I like the looks of the old 350Z better and the whole thing is undeniably Nissan (interior). The one thing I did like about the GTR was the customizable dash/displays, but it isn't enough of a selling point. I just don't think the GTR would make a good daily driver... I think I would go for a ZR1 before I got a GTR and I am not a big Corvette fan either... As another person already stated, you lose the stealth factor with the GTR, and to me, that was a major selling point on me purchasing my E55 (in addition to MB quality).
Anyway, it's all about personal preference, and I hope you enjoy the ride!

I like handling. The E handles like a big boat. The car looks great, tons of power and torque, and roomier inside. I came from an M5 and the E just didn't cut it and the W212's looks is just not my taste. So far, the GTR has hit just about every mark except for the fact it doesn't have two extra doors. GTR is much sportier and I guess ultimately, the car needs to be able to eat curves up. BTW, this car inspires confidence
