Just Picked Up a 2004 E55!!
Just picked up a 2004 E55. It has all the major options minus the distronic and dynamic seats. I’m lovin it so far and it actually feels much stronger than the other 04 E55 I had owned about a year and a half ago.
I’ve read a couple threads about maintenance and so far I want to do a transmission flush and replace the spark plugs. No mods in the near future besides an e63 spoiler.
I do have a minor problem that I would like to get addressed. The lights on my heated/ventilated seats are not lighting up. Is this a problem with the fuse or could it be something bigger like the actual seats not working? I tried pressing the heated button and did not feel much heat if any coming from the seat. Then I tried the ventilated seat and it “felt” like it was getting cooler but obviously in both instances without the lights the buttons working I can’t be 100% sure they are even on.
Also, the rear of the panorama roof cannot be opened at all correct (tilt or slide)?
Anyways, I’ll leave you guys with a crappy pic of the car getting a smog check!

You might want to check the circuit breakers first, if they are good. Then I would think that it's probably the switch panel itself. And it might need to be replaced. I would get a second opinion, talk to a independant shop for their advice.

check out Motorspeed West in Santa Clara if you are in the 408 for independent service. Ken and Bill are top notch.

Congrats! Let's see some more pics![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
like it's said before it should be definitive if the seats aren't working properly.
Go to an indie shop for a job like that.

Thanks for the recommendations/advice guys. I'm not super worried about the seats. Everything else is in great condition. I'll definitely get the seats checked however. Hopefully its nothing too big.

welcome back.
I am new here as well but let me tell you. if you turn the heated seats on you can tell in about 3 min. I have to turn mine off after just a few those babies get hot. even tho they go down on their own.

Congrats on the purchase! Car looks sharp.
Guess I need to get my seat heaters looked at, because they are horrible. I need a warm azz for my early morning commute.
