how to get a pulley/tune overseas?

i want to add a pulley/tune combo to my still stock e55, the problem is that i'm not in the US of A .I live in Qatar ,and i can't fathom the idea of shipping my car's ecu to the US to get it programmed.

Is there a possibility for getting a pulley/tune combo without sending the ecu ?

Fluid MotorUnion are now in Qatar, I think they will stay for few more days then they're off to UAE then Kuwait.

www.fluidmotorunion.com

I just PM you their contact number over there, just tell Hani that Abdulla from kuwait sent you his way.

I would strongly suggest you consider getting a spare ECU, set up a good relationship with a local shop and one that tunes Mercedes.

Your local tuning shop will need to get a flashbooster and may need to open your ECU (depending on brand of tune) the first time. After that, they can simply communicate with the tuning house and get new versions emailed and uploaded to your car with the flashbooster. Traveling tuners are like gypsies.....

I was thinking of getting another ECU but was told that I need to get it from the dealer as they need to mate it to my car. That option was very expensive, so I let it go.

So, we can ask them to get us the parts when they go back home , right?, I mean they will not go in the tour with the parts to sell or will they?

Didn't ask as I was only looking for a tune, call them on the number I gave you.

I have no problem with the RennTech one but I was under the impression that the very first tune must be done by hand and opens the ECU. After that, you can use the OBD flashes. I am not positive. If Renntech really has that feature, then jump on it!!

As far as a spare ECU, the only thing you need the dealer for is the use of the STAR SDS. But I highly recommend yo8u guys get together and find access to one anyway. Either find the traveling tech at the dealer and pay him or buy a unit. You can buy the ECU itself from many sources and the E55 ones are not that expensive. But, it would allow for shipping and still driving.

Good luck guys!!
