Ride/height adjustment...

Hey guys, coming from an SL 55, the airmatic system is a bit different in my E63. Can you give me a quick reference to getting the height/comfort thing right? Currently, the light in the center button is on, and I think it's in the lowest position. Lamp in left button is not illuminated, that obviously puts it up. I do know I've got to get it in the shop to get it lowered a bit by the SDS. But can someone give me a little insight, or point me to a thread to get familiar with this thing? Thanks....

well I am new to , but what seems reasonable is the star or SDS lowering , I cant find a shop in my area to do it but I am in the boonies. Bigger rims will always give you alittle more drop look without the drop. then its aftermarket plug ins. these seem to expensive to just lower the car. The E55 you can shim the senor down alittle and pick up 1/2- 3/4 inch. I dont know if the SL55 has the same front and rear sensor but its simple ( and debatable if you look it up)

Why don't you play with it, to see what it does?

well, I have not seen the SL55 buttons but if its like the E55, the left button with the car on it is SUV mode. when you push it and it lights up it raises the car about 1 inch, have to be sitting still and it takes it a sec but if you watch closely you can see. the middle button with shock like picture is sport mode . 2 settings sport and sport 2 very little height adjustment. so before you lower I would just put it in stock mode all light off. then you can adjust some even after lowering it. hope this help, or Awhh hell I dont know what your asking.

Thanks Mike....

that makes sense and confirms what I'm feeling. I'm assuming that the sport 2 is even firmer than comfort or sport 1. Seems to be little if any height difference. Yes, I'll get it zeroed out before I adjust it.
On the SL55, I had three positions for heiht, and never touched the damping (ABC) control. It was REALLE firm on my SL55 PP in the firmest position.
Thanks for the input.
