If you did it in/near Chicago, you could probably get Eurocharged to come out and offer tuning or some wrench support during the day.
Depending on where it is held, I'm in
Although I will be one of the slow ones.
If it ends up being too far away, I too will donate for the cause, and give a big thumbs up for cancer research or kids.
Great job guys, make this happen as it really brings a tear to my eye. You guys have your hearts all in the right place.

Anyways, we already know who the champion is going to be and it starts with "Black"....
. Who likes racing for 2nd place
. All kidding aside as time comes closer I'll have a better idea on whether or not I'll be making it. I have a hard enough time planning and committing 2 weeks in advance

Add me to the maybe list. Without specifics, it's just too hard for a family man, like me, to commit. With a toddler, an infant, and a wife that hates me, I need to know more before I say yes.
Great idea though.

Well I think we are just gauging interest for now. If we cant get a nationwide thing going I'm definitely going to try to set one up for the east coast. We get cars from all over at MIR for regular rentals lol

Well there is always the idea of doing 2 events at the same time East and West coast. Say maybe an MIR and Famoso.. We can maybe.. See if folks will pay like $200 more for the event over the rental fee. Maybe get some corporate sponsors to donate or sponsor the event(s).. I've got a few companies already that would be on board for this.
IDK I just would like to see as many members come out to race and show off the cars for a great cause. Heck we might be able to do like 4 events or something at the same time. We all know MIR and Famoso are big draws, But maybe AZ and Chicago could draw a good amount of people. Maybe if it was a little more local we could get more sponsors. Just one of those ideas.

That sounds like a awesome idea but alot of organizing, we would need to put are head together to get this to work if that were the situation. 4 events would be really cool all at the same time. If we did one location i think maybe we could do like a 2 day track event maybe have a drag shoot out with prizes and give aways of course i don't know the first thing about organizing anything like this but im sure down to do what i can on my part here in Chicago Originally Posted by hooleyboy

Chicago would be the best place to host it because it is more than a city with a drag strip. It's actually worth coming here for reasons beyond racing, we could actually have fun and host a really nice weekend here.
It is by far the best combination of proximity, tracks, and overall venue, IMO - and I don't just say this as a resident but also as someone who's done his fair share of traveling.

Maybe we could do like a friday and saturday deal and figure it all out once we get a date down and some ideas, but along with Marcus we have endless things we can do as far as hitting up the city for its night life to something simple as indoor go cart racing etc. Question is what dates are we talking???? Thats the begining of the process.

I sent a message to the National Cancer Society a few days ago. It was a very general message about what we are trying to do. They were kind enough to send me an email back with what we need to do. This is what the email said...
Dear Mike,
Thank you and your friends for your interest in raising funds for the American Cancer Society. Your consideration for the organization is greatly appreciated. To help us assess your fundraising idea, we ask all of our potential partners to submit a standard proposal to their American Cancer Society office:
American Cancer Society
4550 E Bell Rd Ste 126
Phoenix, AZ 85032
Fax: 602-381-3096
Please mail or fax your written proposal with any samples, business cards, etc. you would like us to consider. Your proposal should attempt to answer all of the following questions:
> What are your objectives? What do you want to accomplish by partnering with the American Cancer Society?
> What are your possible or probable strategies for reaching those objectives?
> What will the promotion look like? How will you administer it?
> Do you have any kind of business plan overview/summary you could share with us?
> What expectations do you have of the American Cancer Society in the partnership? What work is expected out of our offices?
> What timing expectations have you set? Do you have a deadline set for the near or distant future?
> Do you want to use our logo in the promotion or mention that we would be the beneficiaries of this project?
Thank you for contacting your American Cancer Society.

I know nothing is set in stone as to what charity or ORG we would like to help. This could just be one on the idea list.

if were going to do a track day i could get a hold of some of the tracks out here to see what they would think of doing a fundraiser for ACS. Im sure anybody would want to help this type of orginization and would draw a huge crowd?
