Bit of chatter coming from SC pulley

Tried to search and am a bit new here. This normal? It's nothing noisy but a little chattery, more when engine is cold. There is a little vibration in that area too. Anything to be concerned with? Car runs great. Going in for service tomorrow so would appreciate some feedback from you guys.

Thanks!

You mean the actual SC pulley or the overdrive one on the crank that we play with?

I'm thinking SC pulley and bearings. If the SC pulley, there shouyld be NO play. I assume warranty and no mods?

It's your supercharger clutch (as mb refers to it) but we can call it a supercharger pulley... it's the bearings inside the pulley going bad. This is a big deal if you lose all your bearings... they can go flying into the radiator and whatever else is in the way when it decides to go completely bad.

Seems like the s/c clutch bearings. There is a diy to replace them in this subsection

If you could post up an video with the noise you are talking about. Myself and other could be able to help out a bit better. I've toasted a supercharger or two in my day.. I know all to much about chatter. I bet a good audio track could help pin point the problem.

Lift the front cover off to expose the SC clutch. You can't miss the SC clutch in the picture. You should not even see the ball bearings as they are protected by a race cover (not sure if that is the right term). The condition of my SC bearing in the picture is self explanatory.

I actually just replaced the stock supercharger pulley bearing (it was shot, missing many ball bearings...) with actually a bearing that is rated "excellent for high rpms" compared to the stock bearing which is "suitable for high rpms."

Pretty simple, where are you located? Price wasn't as damaging to the pocket at going the MB part path for the same end result.
