Resinator Delete BEST MOD EVER.PIC.

So I finally got off my *** and got my res deleted.
I went to MORSE Muffler In Burbank.
They got me n and out fast. The job seems good. The Growl is even better.
Cabin Noise is not too bad, But I just put on some FALKEN AZENIS and they are very grippy and Quiet. So the car does not have that whippy wheez noise and now it sounds like my old 68 Nova almost. I have not got it at WOT yet but from the shop to my office was a blast
Ok by the way we used 2 1/2 inch Alum tubes and they fit right in the other pips where the Sebring res was.
Here is a pic, best 100 ish mod ever.
NOTE< Save your res in case you want or need to put it back..

i can't believe you noticed any difference in sound cause most people, myself included, don't. in fact i barely noticed a difference even after removing the primary cats and installing longtube headers!

I do, even in the shop we tested the noise, before and after, my car was REALLY quiet, now it growls and shakes a bit more. Godfather did his and he noticed it too. It's not out of control

IDK how I feel about the pipes being smaller than the factory piping. Is an X-Pipe a better alternative?

I had EVO Sport headers fitted and the resonator removed and replaced with an X pipe and noticed a very slight increase in sound but only under heavy accleration.

Heres a video of my car with secondary cat and resonator delete...3inch pipes were used. Its slightly louder, when it was stock I couldn't hear the exhaust note but now Its audible.

I did the rasp X pipe on my M3, but that was to get the rasp noize gone. I don't think you have to spend the money and the pipes are fine, The reason we did the smaller pipes was because that's the size as the tips for the resinator, they slid in the bigger pipe. Its fits good and I don't think its that big of a deal, it's better than the res and the sound is great. Some people just expect it to be like a huge difference and maybe they get dissed and can't appreciate the change, it's a mental thing or something, because, Mine changed a good amount. Whith more throat and growl. I deleted the res on my C32, I could tell a slight difference with that but nothing like the V8.

Now thats what I am talking about, stock E55's don't sound that raw, man the next car sounded like a ricer compared to the Benz.

Give it a little time, had the same thing done to mine. The sound may not get louder but the growl will be alot more noticeable, well worth the $100.

I used 3" pipe and am very happy with it. The first day all I could notice was the barely deeper tone. The people at exhaust shop even asked me if I noticed any difference. After a couple hundred miles that's when the sound really showed up.

Just so you guys know I have an 3" x-pipe in-place of the resonator. As the other two mentioned, the first week I was disappointed that my car sounded the same after the res/cat delete but after 2-3 week my car got really throaty :o)

i agree with most -- this was the most boring mod -- Luckily it does not cost much.

I wonder how two to three weeks can make any difference at all in sound. Can it be the ECU learning different settings?

I bought a section of 2.75" stainless pipe and had this done. I noticed it was definitely more pronounced sound on every day acceleration. Not night and day difference but definitely noticable...kinda like the engine got a higher compression sound.
