I would only buy a 65k one if I was going to build the f*** out of it. Otherwise I would spend the extra money to get a newer, less mile one. But if I'm replacing most of the drivetrain etc. then miles don't matter. Unless someone messed up the interior, that would **** me off, I'm so **** about interior cleanliness and upkeep.

Have to disagree with you there - I found the gallardo one of the most unimpressive cars ive driven - and i wasnt even being biased - The gallardo for me was kind of deceiving - looks fantastic but performance wise anything but the Lp 560 or the balboni is just bland in my opinion - I would much prefer the 360 - the sound and responsiveness just makes you feel like your driving a thoroughbred italian performance car where as the gallardo for me was like 10/11th, almost there but not quite. The 430 is just on another level all together![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

430 is nice, a huge step up from the 360, Scud is even better, but the 599 is where it's at, best ferrari I have driven.
Plus I really wouldn't want to look like this guy:

Probably how he affords his payments haha

Unimpressive? The performance figures for the gallardo are much higher than the 360, the 360 is positively slow by todays standards. The reason it feels 'unimpressive' is because of how planted and high quality it is. Audi precision and build quality do make it seem a lot more predictable as to how it drives, unlike a ferrari which is more raw and unpredictable.

I know you said you like the 599 but reserve judgment until you have been in a 458 - Im confident you will be.......stunned.
As for 'Ferrari guy for hire'.....you really feel ashamed of the human race when you see such a thing.

Hahaha I know!!! Look at the pictures! They are even funnier!!
Another thing that cracked me up was '220mph on the dash' i could install a damn 400mph fascia on the dash, doesn't do anything though lol!
I know what you mean, a ferrari does feel more raw, especially with the mode selector knob on the steering wheel (can't remember the proper name for the life of me) and the v10 is definitely a different sound, it's a love or hate type thing. I'm just saying for the 65k I would rather have a newer, more reliable car, the gallardo is definitely a better car than a 360, but I would take a 430 over a gallardo every day of the week, but completely different price range.
If you want raw though you can borrow the viper, that is as raw as it gets!!
I would LOVE to drive a 458, haven't had the opportunity yet unfortunately, that is a beautiful car, and i love its visual cues to the P4/5 (one of my favourites)
Haha that guy is a complete joke, I would honestly love to go for a ride just to make fun of him for the entire time.

To me I was unimpressed - didnt have the feedback Ferrari's had, much like the GTR almost as if there is to much interference from the car like you said just not as raw - just didnt like how it drove, sounded, performed - to 'audi like' I guess -hey maybe I am biased!

I am in total shock! I saw the pics and also saw where it said that he is the most photographed man in the world besides the president...

That's the name! I was thinking marinetto but I knew that wasn't right! Yessir that's my viper! Thanks! I do miss the matte black a lot, it's matte pearlescent white (balloon white) at the moment. Was really funny though when it was matte black, I parked it going into the supermarket once, and this little kid, must have been 4 or 5 is with his mother and runs up to me and asks me if I'm batman because I drive the batmobile, it was hilarious!

360 trumps the Gallardo in the looks and respect department IMO, given that both are "entry level Exotics" nowadays, and can attract some not-so-great crowds (our friend with the guitar being one).
Gallardo is waay to small and "Go-Kart"-y looking to me to command such a premium price from my wallet. Now, if I were performance>everything else, I'd obviously feel more inclined.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I Vote 360.

Hey man, don't fret, there are different ways to enter the Ferrari club WITH respect, and without looking hideous (cough, Mondial, ahem). Easily in the sub $30's: 308, sub $40's: 328, 348, Testarossa. Then comes the 355, then the 360 pushes into modern territory at a decent little bit-xub $100K.

96 and 08 911 turbos
the purchase price is just the cover charge.
Once you get into testa and 355 majors, better have a chat with your visa representative first, cause you're looking at high 4 or 5 figures with any problems.

fyi: for anyone possibly serious about buying a 360, here are a few very informative posts by Robin Sun. He's an owner and mechanic. He is also the guy who designed and builds RSR mufflers for Porsches.
Realistic and very informative..... and with some great DIY pics. A must read for anybody seriously considering buying one.

I myself am looking into purchasing a sports car and so far i have considered,
Gallardo: An entry level sports car and has an image that seems to fit younger crowd lot more then a mature person kinda M3 vs M5. Good thing about this car is it's reliability. There's effin way you can get a decent no story Gallardo for under $100,000... I am not sure where members are seing them for 60...
355: Gorgeous body style and is affordable too.. However it has lots of issues and not enough power
360: Great car but don't care for the front end. Power is OK but needs engine out timing belt change every 5/15,000 miles which ever comes first and cost approx $3500.. The problem is,if a CEL comes on or for that matter, any minor issue and i would be stuck. The nearest Ferrari dealer is 400 miles away from me.
997 Turbo: Great car, excellent power, reasonable price and could be driven as a DD but it AIN'T an exotic.
RUF CTR: Prettiest car ever, has the power, looks and the exoticness but it AIN'T cheap.
///M3 Coupe: Estoril Blue/blue leather interior with stage 2 Turbocharge system. I love the flared fenders and the gorgeous interior. With the turbo the car should be good for 450rwhp/450rwtq...
Bottom line is,buying these cars is not an issue. It's the maintenence that will get you. I would say, every car enthusiast should own a Ferrari at some stage in their life. There's just something about Ferraris that's hard to explain.
