renntech cf airbox.

So I just bought this off a fellow member and was wondering for those that have it if you noticed any gains? Also which cf engine cover did you use to try and match the renntech cf weave. Thanks

my car is otherwise bone stock. Is it ok to run this intake without a ecu tune? renntech website doesn't sell the intakes seperate.

E55 AMG
I got my cover from Vivid racing, its not 100% match but its close.

I did Renntech 82mm TB and box at the same time, the car is running Kleemann stage1 software, I definitely need a tune.

Thanks guys!

I will get the tubes, Vivid did not have them in stock and it takes a while to have them made..

Ps, very good finish btw, I am extremely happy with it.

No chance on earth that those boxes make any significant power. Why would they? The sit slightly taller, so slightly larger PRE-FILTERED air. What does that give? MAYBE a slight bit of added air at the punch, but once the added volume is compensated, you will still be getting the same amount of air in as you do out with no added efficiency. By definition, that means no gains.

Last thing for anyone that wants to argue that the boxes add anything, keep in mind that there are no dynos that I know of that can even match air at speed to see how the car would trully run (cooling and intake).

Pay for CF for looks but don't lie to yourself and think they have gains.

Dyno'd the car with stock airbox, then swapped in the Renntech CF airbox and re-dyno'd the car +15hp and +15 ft/lbs tq

It works

I did not buy mine for the minimal gains that it may or may not produce, that's for sure.
