Also not sure if these are correct gear ratios and final drive for our cars but here is mine with the 265/40/18s

Real Cars
Speaking of gearing, you know what I would love to see? Someone slap on an SL55 2.82 on their car and see what it does to their ETs. I haven't run the calcs but I know Kleemann now offers a TCU tune that allows us to change the rear ends on our cars. It may add an extra shift through the 1/4 but I think it would be interesting to see how it plays out in the real world versus on paper.

Just a thought...

I like the way you think Marcus. Maybe someone who has both cars can do a swap back and forth and get some info on it...haha.

if we could change out our 3rd gear, lets say I shift at 6500 in second, that would put me right around 4200 rpms going into 3rd.Now if we could have 3rd come in around 5000 rpms would be perfect.

ohh marcus.from that pm,I know its alot I actually asked to have it lowered from what you have seen.Im going for 22d on the next one!!!

here it is with 2.83,3rd gear should of been 1.52-1.54 in our cars, its way to long and with a 265/40/18 and 1.54 you would hit 130mph at 6700rpms.stock gearing with those tires is 142 at 6750rpms,way to fast enless your making 600-650whp

I believe this has been done Marcus and it involved swapping axles as well. Ended up being quite cost prohibitive. My car comes stock with a 2.82 but I can swap to a 3.07 plug and play with just a new TCU from that car. I've considered it but the shorter gearing would put immense pressure on my drivetrain on launch and I think I'm already putting enough stress on it haha. If you can source the parts from a SL55 for cheap it would be worth a try since gearing isn't changed THAT much. If it adds an extra shift I would say it probably isn't worth it in the 1/4

Battery bout to quit on the ole iPhone on me. 2.82 so far not worth it for me. Hammer got to see it in person and said the car lifted high on launch and just visibly "fell down" late in the quarter. Think my shift points are messed up or something now. Just cost to much in our cars even if it did help a little.

That shift to forth kills my times dead now. Never thought it made that big a deal but I basically haven't run under upper 11s since I did it. Ugh
